The Paris Olympics are inching closer and closer, and on June 28th, they allowed media to enter the gymnasium to see how training was going. Last Friday afternoon, the women's team played games together first, then started working a bit on technique later on. The men's team focused mostly on strength training. Qiu Qiyuan: Basically, Friday is more of an adjustment period for us, after 4 days of more intensive training. It works out well since it is close to the weekend. I hope I can be in top condition at the Olympic Games- that would be ideal. But if I encounter any bumps along the way, I also need to learn how to push through and persevere. We've all been training together, practicing how the competition will go, and also doing a bit of team bonding. Ou Yushan: My physical condition has been relatively good lately, and training has also been going quite smoothly. I feel that I am more mature and calm going into my second Olympic Games, and I hope that I will be able to adjust to the environment in Paris quickly this summer.

Zou Jingyuan: It's just been normal daily training. I've been working on my main three events (rings, pommel, pbars), and I've been focusing more on the landings. Mostly my rings landing. The men's team, consisting of Zou Jingyuan, Zhang Boheng, Liu Yang, Xiao Ruoteng, and Sun Wei, plan on departing for Paris on July 17th. The women's team, consisting of Qiu Qiyuan, Zhou Yaqin, Ou Yushan, Zhang Yihan, and Luo Huan, will depart the following day, July 18th. Besides the main team, there are also 7 alternates that will be going along to Paris this summer. The gymnastics competition at the Olympics are slated to start on July 27th. Gymnastics Coordinator Guy (?): We've been working a lot towards learning how to adjust quickly to the environment, and just how the competition will flow. It's been successful, reaching the expected outcome. Our goal for this Olympic Games is obviously to do better than the last one. At a minimum, we should get the same amount of gold medals as last time.

difficulty/execution wasn’t made public from the Olympic Trials, but maybe somebody can calculate? She has been competing a 6.5 all season.

@@cow2076 Her D score should be at 6.6 but the Zhang looks too piked to be counted as a layout, it's either 6.6 or 6.5. Those Trials' scores were incredibly low on Bars.

@@cow2076it was low mainly cause she couldn’t continue into a giant after the inbar full, if I’m not mistaken, that would be considered a dead hang with .5 in deduction so had she not did the Kip to handstand, she would’ve still scored 14.933 which is high considering her routine was .4 lesser in d score

Emm I'm excited but maybe it's not a good idea to get this internal video from weibo and post it on KZread? It's for weibo viewers ( mainly Chinese) to cheer up or whatever....... now it's on KZread and everybody including their rivals'bot can see it....... I'm not worry about other contestants as top gymnasts are all quite nice, I'm worry about some toxic fans and unwanted stress on the athletes, they're just youngster. I'm a figure skating fan and saw many nasty things and toxic fans there, some athlete are so hurt mentally and some even got cyber bullied. Just want to protect the girls so that they can stay healthy and compete happily.

What is the point of their coaches standing in as spotters? They don’t even try to catch the gymnast when they fall. They just stand there and watch it happen.

@@singsongeric she’s had a groin injury for a while now.. last year she tried recovering but was sent to universiade before fully healing, which probably made it worse. at the beginning of the year she stated that she would continue training until the 2025 national games, and she was an alternate for guangxi at the national championships in april.

Is she and Zhang Yihan possibly also training the Silvas like Guan Chen Chen and Ou Yushan were for the 2020 Olympics? Those stuck landings were fire! Also, I'm confused by Qiu's second pass and ZYH's 3rd pass.

According to China's selection mechanism this time, Qiu and Zhou Yaqin's previous World Championship medals have enabled them to qualify for the Paris Olympics early, and other girls will compete for the remaining spots. But Yihan also has a good chance of qualifying for the main selection, because she has a relatively strong vault, and she is also quite good at uneven bars and floor exercise.
