Not as impressive as the deal I got on a desk that's worth upwards of $6000+ My grandma was just looking to get rid of it and mentioned on FB she was offering it for $100 so since I liked the roll-top that could hide the clutter of my projects, I picked it up. Later my ex looked it up, an Edwardian Oak roll-top desk and the one that looked the closest to what I have is listed for over $6000. Best part is I got $60 back, same bills, for Christmas as a rebate so I got the desk ultimately for $40

Got popped shoplifting in 99 when I was 7 and the police said to return all the cards and the store wouldn’t press charges. I went through and kept the Holos and returned the regulars, they didn’t know about a kids card game back then. Still have them in their original pikachu binder. Chars are is the only holo that has a small scratch cause everybody wanted to see it in school

All I got out of this was a look at how affordability has completely changed. A regular guy in the army was able to buy a Rolex. WOW!

Here's a true story about the Olympic torch in 1984 the it ran right past my house down Roscoe Boulevard at Balboa Boulevard we all got up early in the morning to see it go by before the dawn. You have never seen hundreds of people so angry at a man in a wheelchair in your life. Nobody could believe that the torch was stuck on the back of a wheelchair and they gave it to someone who can't even run. Good bad or indifferent that's what really happened I'll never forget it. Politically correct or not no one understood it. Everyone else got to see a full athlete running and waving at them as they went by .

This is history. I dont even follow baseball that much but this an insane collection. I got goosebumps reading the letters the baseball players left her great grandmother, they were writing the letters that day without knowing people 150 years into the future would be reading them. Oh and one of those players was Spalding, one of the most legendary brands in sports today.
