We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world.
We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred. We want everyone to feel welcome and accepted. We tell stories about the monarchs you know, and the lives you don’t. We let people explore and we set minds racing.
We are a charity, and your support gives the palaces a future, for everyone.

In my opinion, Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour did not have a choice to be Henry VIII's wives. There was no way you could refuse the king. Their families and Henry himself are to blame. He is the main culprit and he wouldn't take no for an answer. Henry VIII was planning to divorce Catherine long before Anne came along. He was looking for ways to annul his marriage because Catherine was getting old and could not bear him a son. Because of this, Henry VIII wanted to exchange her for someone younger who could bear him a son. Anne just didn't want to be like any of his lovers because she knew what was going on with them. Her sister, Mary Boleyn, was living proof of that. Anne tried to stay away from the king, but it didn't work. I don't think any of Henry VIII's wives had a choice to be his wife. So it's not right to blame everything on Ann and Jane. It is not known what really happened.
What a psychopathic narcissist he was.
I remember when people were calling this the best ghost footage ever lol
I was there. Nothing happens…😕
So what you're saying is they've invaded foreign countries?
This is how WE MAKE A DOCUMENTARY THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE TEACHERS!! nah Srsly this documentary is better than the ones our teachers show us. This one is interesting with scenes to enjoy it i recommend watching these.
They escaped and ran a successful kebab shop in Margate. lol
IM GOING ON A SCHOOL TRIP TO GO HERE ...
How can one call a king a traitor when it's YOU attempt to usurp their power?
🪭❤️
Looks like a woman. Part of me thinks its just a staff member but another part of me thinks that if it was, wouldn't they have said? And if it was, they wouldn't have even done anything with the footage, how many times does there staff show up on cctv daily? What would've been special about this clip if it were that easily explained?
This video is already four years old. No doubt many discoveries were made during the conservation project. Is there a way to find out more about this pp p0? A link to an article, maybe?
If I had a Time Machine I would travel back to every execution of Medieval English nobles. I would try to find out who the axe men were and how they got the job of executioner. History never talks about them at length.
damn what an iconic entrance and iconic monologue, as moderners say 'yass slay queeen' 💅
Bickford fuse was only invented in 1830 I think this was Guy Fawkes biggest problem why he failed . At that time they probably used goose feathers in blasting which was very erratic and dangerous 😂😂
Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon’s Wedding Dress was not shown... Any reason?
the music is too loud & inappropriately placed. can not turn down the sound because voices are then gone too.
Gg
Very informative. We can never know enough about those times. What I'm especially intrigued about is the origin of certain fashions in vogue at the court. For example, those immensely wide dresses, one of which is visible in an all-white, 3-D, life-size, modular form there in one room. How & why did such an incredible style develop? I recently learned that George I, first of Britain's Hanoverian kings, used Kensington primarily for parties & entertaining, since he had virtually no interest in the details & minutia of governing. He used these entertainments as a way to connect with the court, with whom most of them he couldn't converse, a way to gain popularity in the only way he, Goerge, knew how. Still, though, how did these extraordinary dresses ever come into fashion? Couldn't've been out of the blue, overnight. Might it have had something to do with catching the king & queen's attention---each lady trying to top the other over time? Even if this was the case, exactly who began the fashion?
WE HATE CRUMMY CROMWELL
Alright who is in 2025
❗They were SERVANTS ! "Under represented people" indeed. What woke crust... Dan's presentations, however, always worthwhile.
Wow this is a lovely video. Thank you
Sam Hyde in the thumbnail?😭

The other thing that is key to know is when the execute Kings and abolish the Crown they almost always bring them back. Both French and British Royalty were abolished, but guess what, they came back. So the full measure of this story includes knowing the story how and why it returns. History taught with this focus only on events like the death of a king, not the events leading up to it, nor the events after where we see a return of the crown and the same people who eventually re-create a Crown government. That is why this is a bad way to teach history.
Funny, last I checked most of Europe today is made up of republics.
This is not a good way to teach history. Lots of factors are missing. Why does the King need or want a Parliament? They hint it has something to do with money. They don't explain that, nor some of the things the King is doing to annoy or put off various people, some powerful, and many common. They don't mention the British was a conquered nation 1066 so that the King and his regime were foreign invaders. They don't mention the many other prior things like the Magna Carta and various events that put limits on the Crown or the real threat the Pope and Church played to recapture and dominate England as they were a hostile power. They also should reference that King John should have been executed as he was guilty of treason in this time, murder and other foul deeds so the idea the king is above the law, is only true by power of force and tradition. Nothing more, and the fact there was also the Right of Conquest and the right of people who make claims on the throne who then can attack and seize control of the Crown.
I despise Anne but I don’t think she deserved beheading
Why is the background music so loud, the loud volume is really tasteless.
Cool video, one of.my favorites
Good job too the tyrant Scottish born Charles Stuart, 10% of the English population died due to his stubborn refusal to negotiate and compromise. His son was a French agent, and a closet Catholic, like his father.
Fantastic!!
So funny Her kids and grand kids are now at thrown

She was a wonderful woman i feel Some People were ver jelious of her
The figure opening the doors dates back to the time of Henry VIII .
I am a psychic and I know Catherine Howard’s ghost still runs down that corridor in a green dress trying to get to Henry and being grabbed by 2 guards by some large doors. Her spirit is not at peace and she does not understand why what happened to her happened. I do say prayers periodically for the peaceful repose of her soul. I visited Hampton Court many times when I was younger. I am also told by the other side that Hampton Court was a place of many whispers and much intrique. The Maze is (or was) my favorite part, 👻😊
I was r worded there😮
I LOVE this music. I wish i knew how to get it.❣️
The guy on the left doesn’t even look English
Show us the Royal Bloomers.
Ewww! Why?
this is so informative but is it my left &, right or the recipient's left & right
Like no one has ever worked for their living before? This is a bunch of woke nonsense.
I guarantee he just went by Charles. A second King Charles didn't reroactively and posthumously make him first.
I saw a gosh in Kensington Palace
I like how they casually say that they solved it in the video in the thumbnail but then say they don't know at the end.
that’s sam hyde
exactly what i thought hahaha
What a load of Tory bollocks! Venerating the oppressor and sentimentalising British history!
