I had a hard time watching the video because the background music is distracting and at the same volume as the speaker. Not good for those of use with sensory struggles. I watched only 1 minute.
Very important and informative information on how we should stay healthy in every school 🏫 globally.
this one I will try to apply in my class. Huge thanks to Edutopia for sharing the best classroom-based reading practices!
Interesting concept.
Excellent video
I love that!
I wish they had this when i whent to elementary, they js gave us ipads with a app called reading horizons iykyk
Very Interesting. Do you have the research to back up the claim that project-based learning is actually as effective as direct instruction, beyond the two-year research done on two AP Classes? Or, is it rather the case that project-based learning, without direct instruction, is ineffective? That is, project-based learning is more of an add-on, rather than a necessity.

@@edutopia Thank you! I see that there is true emphasis upon rigor, student involvement, and deep learning. All good things. What I don't see is a true representation of high school classroom learning (that's where I live and operate). Save for the two AP Courses (kudos to you!), I don't see anything about AP Calculus, AP Lit, AP Precalculus, or any other regular high school courses. Is there a reason for this?
great. thanks for this video😍
This was a very good video, of course I might be a tad biased since my granddaughter is one of the HS students. But it did lead me to watching others.
Watching in 2024
They are really impressive. Thanks to PS 249 teachers
very cool. kids NEED the Sensory room
I would love to have more details on how this works. The erasing part was not really explained.
I believe the erasing is a way to steal someone's box. If you solve a problem someone else did, you can steal their box.
That's correct-erasing names is a way to steal a box after you've solved the problem associated with it. There are additional details for how to play the game here: www.edutopia.org/video/high-school-math-review-high-energy-game
Ayo dong berbagi jawaban 1-5 😅
We all could use some more of this.
Is there a book or training you can recommend? I love the Morning Meeting Handbook by Roxanne Kriete (looks like that's what you're doing) and I'm trying to get my school to adopt this practice. Would love to be able to suggest a workshop the teachers could go to to learn!
You can read all our videos and articles about this school here: www.edutopia.org/school/symonds-elementary-school. There are many practices outlined in these resources, including more morning meeting activities/strategies.
Where can I find out the name and objective of the game where multiple kids were tossing the stuffed animals while in a circle?
The activity is called Group Juggle. You can read more about it in this article: www.edutopia.org/practice/morning-meetings-creating-safe-space-learning
Wow, I love this! The key is to consistently develop the students social emotional skills, which should be the main focus in the classroom. How else are children going to thrive if we are not catering to such vital skills. Children need to learn positive and effective ways to express the emotions they are feeling which does have an impact on their other areas of development. Thank you for sharing, much more success to the teachers and schools that hone in on students social emotional development first!!!!

What an awesomely beneficial initiative for both Teachers and Students. Blended Learning is epitome and quintessionally what a classroom should be, a space for education exchange. I was really impressed that the Geometry teacher was so open about her lack of Tech skills and ready to learn. This will making online education systems (oes)so personalized that no one needs be excluded from learning and growing.#oes #classroom #education #blendedlearning
Love this! I'm someone who believes in a safe space, movement and competition. I feel this activity holds space for all of that. Will try this sometime when I get the chance.
I am a master maker, and fan of the PBL methodology, how can I as a teacher get involved in this movement?
We have a large number of resources on PBL, all of which are collected on this page: www.edutopia.org/project-based-learning You might also benefit from this article about getting started with PBL: www.edutopia.org/article/3-steps-getting-started-pbl
