  China does not have to give help to us. We never invited them here in 1989 they just showed us uninvited. You know they want to move to our land because they are overpopulated. I guess they are feeling a bit unwelcome in a very black nation so they are buying their stay.

  Very glad to see these briefings having more substantive information shared - better late than never. Heartening to see important topics covered like paid labor, staff rotations, and plans for debt management. I must say the Finance minister had very unhelpful responses. The purpose of this was to give information, right? There needs to be more formal guidance on the barrel limit per family and how the funds donated to the people of Grenada will be used and transparency in the process. This is an opportune time to address the unaffordability of insurance for middle and low income home owners and the multitude of exclusions in their language. If more people have insurance, it's less public burden to rebuild. Why isn't the gas treatment being done for mosquitos in villages? Will teachers be paid usual salaries assuming they will be using their time to assist rebuilding efforts? Why such a long 2 months period is needed for needs assessment for such small islands? Good job by journalists asking pertinent questions and getting even more substantive information and the press secretary for keeping good structure.
