Join me, as I try to learn more about music, synthesizers, theory, and production.
I might not always get everything correct, but I'm always trying to learn, grow, and have fun with making music.
Along the way I might make a detour into checking out some nature and gaming, but the primary focus here is mostly music/synths =)

Have you tried to use a sustain on your keyboard, because I tried it with 3 different midi keyboards and I didn’t get the sustain working :/
I didn't find the FX demo useful with that particular choice of test sound.
That's Flanger, with a soft G
2:06 The classic mistake... Renaissance instead of Resonance....😂
I am trying to do arp octave. In this video you; 1. hold a note 2. hold shift then presses oct+ and it does an octave two note arpeggio, whilst on mine nothing happens... its such a simple process that I cant see where im going wrong. The controller is going into a behringer k-2 when i hold shift oct+ or oct- lights up by itself. I notice in the video this doesnt happen
cc 71 mooving my filter but not my modwheel ..
Resonance shifts the filter where ithe sound starts to resonate/self oscillate, as with all "resonance" functions on synths.
I have one of this, no 48V issues, only noise I get from the board is with some effects if I push harder than 12 O'clock on the effects metter.
mine is not working. when i press the play pause button it flashes and does not start the arp
800th like! Thank you!
I like your music, shame you sold your volka beats. Carry on.
Why only Channel 1? That's just stupid.
Nothing wrong with that.
Are we Synchronizing the Volca with the Nts? Or are you just using it as effects for the Volca?
What kind of speakers can you use with it.
Mine does this too. Shame.
Fuck well that saved me a lot of time mine seems to be broken since the power does not turn on I’m now pissed at guitar center they knew it wasn’t gonna work 😂
very helpful video! thanks!
Maybe I'm crazy but I think arpeggiator is pronounced with a soft g or J sound arpe-jj-iator
I have noticed that each time i hit rec/append on my keystep 37, the current VolcaSample part resets its sample to S.000 which is frustrating. Also, sometimes the pitch of the part goes so low, dont quite udnerstand this behaviour. In MidiControlCenter i cant find where to define the CC messages for transport buttons If I disable global parameter 6, i would lose the internal sequencer which Id like to keep usable as refering to this video :3 kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZ2TtMeSdK67lqw.html So you could have on VolcaSample part dedicated to chop amen breaks :9 Also i have a simple midi thru-3 but it is DOREMiDi and i think it does not filter midimessages. Should I start buying the miditech one? Help :$
very usefull, thanks !
How about volca 2 please?
Really great tutorial, once of the most comprehensive videos I've see on what the digitone can do, many thanks!
So cool 👍
Thanks for this lesson! Is there anyway I can have the synth play a loop continously by itself? I need to be able to play drums as the synth is hammering awat 😊
Hello, I have that mixer but I find that the transformer gets very hot, does anyone else think the same? greetings from Chile.
Ali has this right now for $12 free shipping
I’m 5 mins in and this video is hilarious 😂
I want to connect the VOLCA BASS to my KORG WAVESTATE... Do I just connect the MIDI from the VOLCA to MIDI of the KORG WAVESTATE?
Just bought one today
Screwing up? These Volca machines are literally MADE for fidgeting.... Virtually indestructable by updating ...
Thanks for doing this. Perfect for a beginner like me. Loved the atom bomb explosion.
I was just curious, how do you factory reset the Modwave? Bought a used one, and I’d like to restore it to factory settings.
Thank you for this extremly accurate review ! But I don’t understand why you undo the Transport receive on the Digitakt
Hi, thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I have a question about the power consumption. I saw that the adapter sold with the mixer gives 5V and 1A. The 1A is probably more than the mixer needs, so I am wondering: how many mA does the mixer actually requires? I am planning to use it with a portable speaker that has a built in usb port that produces 500mA, so that I don't have to use a powerbank. I am hoping it wouldn't exceed the 300mA, otherwise it'd be to tight and damage the speaker power source. Ah, Just one thing, while plugging the mixer to the power bank you plugged it to the 1A output source (which is absolutely fine, since it's the same output of the given adapteur) and you didn't plug it to the 2A output, cause concerned that it might cause damage. When it comes to Ampere, more output is good, less is bad (the other way around than volts. A higher voltage can fry the device you want to power). While for the ampere, if you send less ampere than required, you might put stress on the battery, cause the device is trying to draw more than the battery can give (I am not an expert, but so I understood). To make it simple, if you the mixer requires 600mA and the powerbank give 1000mA (1A), it's no problem. If the mixer requires 1000mA and the powerbank gives only 600mA, it can be a problem (normally for the powerbank). Does the manual says what the actual power consumption is? Thank you P.S. I saw that somebody already mentioned the Amperage thing, sorry I could have spared a few words :)
❤❤❤q
Thank you for this very useful video! However the arp octave at 8:39 (shift + octave up or down) does not seem to work in my case. Maybe I am overlooking something?
❤❤❤
Just bought one this is a great tutorial this will save a load of time going thru manual . I better being shown anyway thanks again buddy
I am a keyboardist who doesn't know a lot about sound. I bought this board to go along with my keyboard Trace Elliot Elf speaker set. At my church's Christmas party, somebody bought their Shure mics along with their one EV amp, which had a terrible muffled sound. So somebody plugged that mic into this board and that mic sounded great! I don't know if that mic needed phantom power, I never pushed that button and that mic was very loud and clear. In the future, I want to get a wireless mic set but I don't know if it will need that Phathom button pushed or not. We will see.thx
Thank you that pitch mode info helped me so much!
At 2:20 --> that is why i have a Volca Mix. I can change the tempo of three volcas and know exactly what tempo it is. Also, on the Mix, i can power those 3 Volcas with the mix. (No a/c adapters needed z except for the Mix.) So cool.
The easiest way to think of a cutoff is essentially when it's turned right up it's letting everything through, as you turn it down it's filtering every out above the value youve set. The peak is the same as resonance. If you have a look online there's plenty of videos that explain it really well and it's wayyyy easier than it sounds. Great video thanks, picked a keys and bass up this week so can't wait to have a proper play!
That second track is niiice. Not a fan of the behringr company but I understand the temptation at that price. Practically giving it away.
Thanks DR. Yeah I really liked the wood man track, the mega man music is just so good it is hard to make it sound bad.
nice. but how do you tempo sync the keysteps arp and sequenzer to the digitakt and vice versa?
honestly dont think he uses it at all, or at least not syncd up
That was helpful. Volca FM v1 with MPC LIVE as midid host, THANKS!!!
Nice 🎉
oscillator like osprey then later. ospreylater
So basically microkorg should not give up its day job 😛
When I press the play/pause button, nothing happens. Is this something wrong with my key step? Just acts as a normal piano, no matter what I try
