Using your real voice makes the videos sound more professional. Don't worry about people recognising you it's highly unlikely someone you know will even find the channel until you get big (Same with your music)

This is so true, if you can find a team of people willing to support & and be patient with you, you'd be fortunate But as a producer/engineer/artist myself (since 2016 it's a lot I've learnt) I've worked with dozens of talents and recorded hundreds of songs for free (quality beats & mixes) I spent most of my time in High School working on music by myself and other artists who were tryna record. When I started making music, me and my hommies didn't know any studios/artists + we couldn't afford it if we knew but over time me and my boy managed put money together to get our own set ups. With that being said, I didn't want them to face the same challenges I faced especially the challenge of getting a chance to record so I didn't mind helping out rappers with talent because it would've been a blessing to me if I ever got such a chance. But the reality is that 99% of artists are delusional or they don't realize the amount of work required to Make It Out and I got artists with plenty of unreleased music waiting on the "right moment" and some who pretty much only make one song in a blue moon (it would be better if the songs were groundbreaking). See I consider myself a perfectionist, I let artists record as many takes as they can to make sure we get the best version of the music by the end of the day and I pay attention to the tiniest details with both paying and non-paying "clients". But I came to a point where I realized I spend more hours mixing a song than the hours the song itself is being promoted by the artists themselves (sometimes the songs stay unreleased or they are released under the radar to the point even I wouldn't know they dropped). I don't mind artist not dropping or wanting to change they sound/style of music they put out but when you are not being paid then find out the artist don't even value the work enough to put it out then it's better to stand on business cause we all have our personal lives and challenges Even my Parents couldn't understand how I work with so many artists and still don't buy the groceries It seemed like I was in the same place but they always heard the music on repeat as I was mixing. [Conlusion in the replies]

I did Artworks, Visualizers and Promos for the hommies too but maybe I was feeding people that were not hungry Shoutout to an older hommie for also acknowledging my situation and he understood the pressure I put on myself because at the end of the day not everyone will make it I feared losing my passion for music before I reached my peak as an artist because at some point you get overwhelmed and creativity peaks in your youth (I'm never gonna make the same beat twice) and I wouldn't want my name associated with wack beats so if I had to give out beats for 10 more years I would be left with nothing and be a washed up producer who never managed to capitalize on his skills/talents. I love producing for other other artists and engineering but the main reason I started this was to make music working with different artist was something which happened through word of mouth and I never planned on working with so many artists besides 2 of my day one hommies. It's a lot of Supertalents out there that we'll never hear of and in my case most of these artists would only hit me up for beats/sessions and I didn't know most of them beyond surface level so I might've been their friend cuz they seen my crib, they seen my fam, they know what I do but to me they are people I still don't know Everyone swears they your friends when it's beneficial for them but if you look closely, most don't even care enough to send a happy birthday or to check up on your mental They can even be defensive about their role in the friendship But I made it known early 2023 that I'm Standin' On Business (I still have certain artist I work with for free because they was real ones) (they literally were thoughtful enough to buy snacks sometimes or send a bit of money here and there) Unfortunately it was the last I heard from most of them (even musically) I've been able to relax more and focus more (it's hard to focus on one thing when there's a hundred more tasks requiring the same amount of focus) I stay off my phone a lot and I just enjoy creating I strongly believe in building a team but I also believe in learning as much as you can in order to help yourself and others around you as well because even taking a bit of the workload off somebody could do more than you know. If you are just going to be recording music and waiting on the release date (with no preparation) nobody is going to help you and if they do, they'll eventually realize they been giving the whole lemonade. I understand that all artist wanna do is create but what happens with someone like me who's also an artist and a producer but ends up doing Artworks and Promos for other artists. At this point just being a recording artist is a luxury which can be achieved by paying for everthing or whatever you're not willing to do (even signed artists have to do more). Love to all the artists out there who genuinely appreciate they efforts of their teams and make the most out of the lemons they get. Remember everybody got families to feed/build aspirations to achieve and bills to pay. To this day I personally never had people behind me (SHOUTOUT to my Bestfriends RIKK & SIXX) only my day one hommies produced on songs (there's one other hommie who sent me beats on some unreleased songs) But I've been totally independent I've mixed every song I hopped on and produced on pretty much every song except for a handful and did everything visually and promotionally Learning and Improving everyday and being a lot more consistent Minding my business without being worried whether 100 other niggas are GOOD.

Great vid. Didn't need to alter your voice and hide your face. And also you right about the producing. It is definitely harder😭. Like anybody can make a decent beat this days. It's the high level where it's at. Cuz like a great beat can save a bad vocal performance and vice versa. But if you have a marriage in both you winning

What helped me on my music journey was to be clear and upfront on what I'm looking for. Whenever I worked with a producer or mix and mastered a clients vocals on a song, it helped build strong relationships because it came from a place of honesty which builds trust and credibility. Never be ashamed on what you like to fit in. Anime music (aka Anison) has some of the best sounds/tracks that are amazing! Big tip when it comes to making music is learning the "art of not giving a shit" When I stopped caring so much and being overly critical on my songs, I oddly made better music and pushed out more songs! I mostly work with clients now but being overly critical with your music will have you sit on songs for MONTHS! Finding your tribe takes time but you will find them faster if you embrace the things you like because that will attract others with the same interest

I wasted 10 years investing my time and money into a team that couldn’t see better for themselves. From production to studio equipment and all that good stuff. Just for them to envy the one that put them in position. Doing for others and putting people before myself really drained me. Mf’s don’t want to put the work in or feel like I was responsible for their upbringing. Dropped contact with every single one of them and started posting clips of my recent work. Now, they beg for validation as they try to get ahold of me to see what I’ve been up to. Point is, focus on yourself and YOUR ENERGY. What you put out will come back. Create value and ask the universe to surround you with like minded people that want to see you grow with no ill intentions.
