    Honestly, people that complain about any part of a well-written show such as SU don't understand the effort behind the scenes. The fact that a team of people got together and made such a good show in the first place is astounding, no matter how ugly or simplistic they think the art style is.

    Honestly, between Kirishima and Izuku, Kirishima probably would inspire a better worldview. Deku’s ideals are more “Push yourself to the limit” which can be good, but can also hurt yourself and, if someone takes that to the level Bakugo does with All Might, hurts people who look up to you. Kirishima’s ideals are more “Be the best you can be so that, even when your afraid, you can save others” which would definitely be a more healthy worldview for someone who takes it to the level Bakugo does. Also the entire masculinity thing is a great worldview too.

    nobody understands masculinity, people say it is, you can be human as a man, but must be willing to be stoic in a situation where someone needs someone stoic, or if someone needs protection you should be willing to be protect but not go out picking fights, or if an old lady needs help crossing the street you should help, people just don't understand masculinity anymore, example. so many women say that instead of crying about stuff, you do something about a problem would be toxic masculinity, and some people say masculinity is no longer needed, and some think masculinity is aggressive and you have to be better than anyone, that's all wrong. 1 you don't need to take advantage of people, or try to be clever and push and weave your way to success like Andrew Tate or "Alphas" 2 you don't need to completely give up on masculinity and decide its useless, like James Charles 3 you don't need to bully men who try to be masculine and good people, like many many feminists and main stream media being masculine means being there for people, holding open a door, or even protecting someone in some cases of need, or being the source to lean on when someone's sad, no one understands to be masculine you need to be a gentle giant. you cant lose ambition, but you don't have to compete in everything, you can feel sad but you need to know how to take action, you can feel pain mentally and physically but you shouldn't wimp out. think about superman, he has the time to get a cat out of a tree, and is kind, but also can destroy anyone who threatens the innocent, he isn't twisting morals and words to his will, he is truthful he has courage and good morals, he advocates for justice with common sense. he was raised to be kind, he was raised to make things better, he was raised to be there for people, and take anything that's thrown at him and get back up. I wish people would just understand what masculinity is, its about truth, humanity, morals, kindness and generosity, being honest and just, being protection, and being there to lean on, that's what masculinity is. and characters like Kirishima, or Superman, embody this perfectly.

    Some interesting points, though I still feel like the relationship was fairly rushed. For example: I cannot remember a single moment where Luz showed romantic interest in Amity. From her perspective, the relationship literally forming is the first time we see her show interest of that kind in Amity. Then, just like that, it's like a switch is flicked and Amity sheds every last trace of her old personality and every last toxic character trait she ever had. It certainly does feel relatively rushed, since it was not just a relationship forming (and seemingly out of nowhere), but also a complete character arc of becoming a completely different person, being speed run in only a few episodes.

  • @ALookIntoTheEulenspiegel
    @ALookIntoTheEulenspiegel11 күн бұрын

    Lumity is a great symbol and step forward for representation in animation, but a terrible ship in my opinion. Amity starts dating the main character and BAM! She's suddenly an almost completely different person. Worse, she feels too much the same as the collective protagonists. All the traits that defined her just kind of evaporate to give us a very neat, clean and above all boring relationship with Luz. All their drama being so incredibly minor and so predictable in their resolution, that it's not exciting at all. I feel like their relationship could have been far more interesting if Amity didn't just suddenly stop being the arrogant, elitist bully that she started out as. Don't have her character just suddenly shift, but rather have her channel her traits into wholesome things. Have her elitism instead become ambition. Make her the driving force behind the team, pushing them to their limit. Have her bullying become the instincts of a protector. Have Luz actually grapple with the fact that she has romantic feelings for someone who is, essentially, a bad person. As is, it feels like a Doppelganger just suddenly replaced Amity so that the relationship could be squeaky clean.

    Part of what makes them so good is how they look up to all might, both learning from watching the number one hero but in different ways. One picks up on the mindset of him, whilst the other picks up on the results and physical actions of him. Deku learns to think like a hero, saving people no matter the cost, whilst bakugo first learns to "act like a hero", defeating the bad guys no matter what (of course theres more to it and he changes, but still)

    loved the video and i'm a huge fan of the series. however i feel the biggest thing that makes it work is that we gloss over most of the damage done. its honestly pretty shallow over all leaving behind important events that should have been important character development moments. i would say arguably the biggest being bakugo attempting to bait izuku into suicide. that is something that is simply tossed out no more than a 5 minutes after being said, and i believe its those moments that should have been used later in the story. seeing aizawa step in when bakugo attempted to attack izuku with more than mild annoyance at having to use his own quirk, the willingness to do serious damage to izuku in the 2v2. everyone in class 1-A is appalled by this for roughly 3 seconds then promptly forgets it happened. if anything id say the entire thing is rushed haphazardly

  • @paperhunter8118
    @paperhunter811812 күн бұрын

    Your video is good, though I disagree on the opinions about the animation errors not damaging the show (not to say that it ruins the show completely, it's just a flaw). In my personal opinion, having an inconsistent art style can harm the show quite a bit, but sometimes it can also serve the show. For example, in a 90s anime I've been watching called Yu Yu Hakusho/Ghost Files (not to be confused for ghost stories), the animation can be quite inconsistent at times and I find that whenever I see a moment of movement or a scene that looks completely awkward and unlike the usual art style it takes me out of the immersion of what's going on and usually bothers me. Though, there is this one scene in the second season of the show where a character Hiei is about to defeat another character, Bui, using much of his power to do so, and he has trained for this fight a lot. The art style suddenly changes as he unleashes his power, and remains for the duration of this scene in the fight until it is over. I liked this scene very much for the reason that this sudden and short art style change during such a huge scene felt intentional and made the scene more exciting and engaging. But, as said, the other inconsistencies in the show did not and often took me out of the immersion and harmed my enjoyment of the show a bit, (though it's still one of my favourites). I'm saying this because sometimes art style changes can be positive and can help the show when it's intentional, but, when it's unintentional and inconsistent so much it can be tiring. Consistent animation is very important for a show and I personally don't consider it as minor of a flaw when it happens so often. I also want to say that I see these animation inconsistencies/errors in a lot of other popular shows and not just Steven Universe, and that I think it's unfair that Steven Universe was the only show to get targeted for this when other shows often have these issues as well. I'm also not saying that it's the fault of anyone who worked on the show that these mistakes happened, I'm just saying it's a shame that the animation had so many inconsistencies and that I wish communication could have been better so these errors were less prevalent. Thank you for reading my opinions.
