Fished the kern this week using your premium report and it was perfect (that hare’s ear beaded did really well at Thunderbird). Thanks!. 9 fish hooked, a 16” rainbow in the net on a purple reign. Appreciate the work you do. And mid-week is heaven, even when it’s hot. So much open water to fish.

Guy, with all the snowpack we had last year, do you think water temps will be good throughout the summer, even after runoff has completely subsided?
The river temp will get warm near Kernville , but will remain cool in the Golden Trout Wilderness and beyond.
Im coming to the Upper Kern on June 26th. I’ve been keeping an eye on the flows. What is ideal CFS for the upper kern? Thanks in advance

Guy are there squaws in the south fork?
Ive seen them in the Lower elevations of the South Fork near Lake Isabella. I haven’t seen any in the Domelands.

WOW - Great video! I have fished the Green out of Dutch John many times and always loved it. The fish are spectacular especially in the fall when their colors are more vivid. They used to offer a "Best of Day" package where we would stay two nights in the condos and included a guided float w/lunch each day - it was an awesome deal! I remember the food was always good at the restaurant as well. Thanks Guy!

What does something like that cost as far as lodging and a guide, like $1000-$2000, looks so beautiful, I been looking at guides for me n my buddy, thanks for video
Thanks for the comment. Guides are 700.00 a day includes lunch Guide Tip 150.00 Hotel 200.00 a night Breakfast and lunch 40.00
My friend caught a trout out of Lake Isabella that's so big. He's had it in his freezer for 30 years.

Miss fishing that area. Parents had a place up there in the mid 90's and fished the river by the airport. Had some good luck that then.

"For California Golden Trout you have to fish from down stream to up stream." Uh, that's for pretty much any trout in small streams. Nice that you can drive to camp for Goldens in Cali. Better than a 6-hr hike.
