Awesome man
Thank you, and thanks for watchin and commenting!
Real or rc
RC, thanks for watching!
No matter what plane I get I always change elevator and aileron servos. Purchased 8 motion rc planes over last 2 years with no issues. Sorry that you lost your planes.
Norm fantastic flying and great video RB Niiiiiiiiiiice, zoom zoom zoom Jeff in LA USA
That was awesome 👌🏽
Extremely sweet, nice job. I will say though, that in classic Military olive drab or camo would be so sweet.
Not sure why he chose that scheme but he does fly a turbine Hawker Hunter with a military scheme. Could just be for visibility it is a pricy beast so I would do every trick possible to keep it in sight. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
that machine would look a lot better in gull gray and white.
Not my bird, so I dont know the story behind the color scheme. The red is very visible though, and with it costing in the neighborhood of $10,000 I can't say I wouldn't go for something you can always see. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
@@redbeardreviewsrc perfectly understandable; I thought as much. Still...
Sweet!
Thank you! And thanks for taking the time to comment!
Nice
Thanks, Edited three Different times and wouldn't play, unfortunately had to basically leave it raw to upload it. Had to share this wicked beast though!
How fast does she go? How hard is it to fly? What kind of fuel?
It is not my plane so I can't speak on it's flight characteristics, however I do know that it burns diesel or kerosene. He uses diesel fuel though to keep cost down. He flies many large scale warbirds and turbines. That was the 23rd flight on the F-4.Thanks for watchin and commenting!@@andy47456
Did you do the nozzle mod? Or take out the lead weight that’s in it? Flies much better with those two mods. Sorry for your loss. It happens.
Negative on the mods. Didn't know those were problems. Flew it twice with no issue. then the crazy stalling started. Probably because I was getting more aggressive with it as I flew it more... I still have the carcass, maybe I'll do the mods and try again. Too bad too I wanted it to be good so bad. Love the MiGs and Sukhois. Thanks for checkin out another video and leavin a comment brother!
Wow!!!!
Agreed! Very impressive model. Definitely over $5000 in this beauty...... Thanks for watchin and commenting!
Sorry for your loss, it could have been servo related. However, when I first watched your flight, it looked like a model that had climbed inverted almost to the vertical, almost like someone who is about to do a stall turn. At this point it really looked like your airspeed had dropped right off and when the model dropped, your elevator did not have enough effect to recover from a stall situation. I maybe wrong, but that was my first impression. I have flown my own Glow powered P-38 and you know what a high wing loading this model has
Ive always wanted to see someone change the scheme on this ones
I had to. The original is way too busy for my taste. Thanks for watchin and takin time to comment!
@@redbeardreviewsrc that big ol eagle on the side had to gooo 🤣
I get a red car now everything I see is red LOL
lol! That's generally how it goes! Seein the same car everywhere too? Thanks for watchin and takin the time to comment!
The grease was serious. Was this 8s version?
This was the 6s version. Thanks for watchin and stoppin by the channel. workin on some new content, thanks for your support!
@redbeardreviewsrc always man everytime I think of getting a new edf I stop by here to see if yall flew it already lol
@@lewiemotorsports3616 That means a lot brother, thank you!
Very nice F5. What is the specs? Motor KV ? Battery size ? ❤❤❤❤❤
I will get back to you on the specs. Think it's the stock Freewing set up with a 5000mah 6s.Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thx. Out there, Many different versions of F5 with different fans, different motor, kv number. ❤❤❤❤❤
Loved the flight but the drone noise really spoiled the sound of the jet for me
Thank you for the feedback! The drone is usually not in the flights anymore. Though I do miss the amazing footage. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Which Burner is this
Rc Geek. Thanks for watching!
@redbeardreviewsrc yes my friend but WHICH rc geek burner 😅
@@EDF_FANatic I'll check with the owner and get back to you!
Freewing should send you a backup F-22. I bought one because of this video!
Lol! That's awesome! I'm glad you got some useful information from the video! It really might be the G.O.A.T. right now, good choice ! I hope you have a great time with it. Thanks for watchin and commenting...... let me know how you like it!
😢 only a 5 till v2 comes out some day
Might have to agree..... still playin with some reflex.... & we don't have ANY down in the ailerons, mostly mixed through stabilator. Definitely a work in progress. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
Never use cheap servos. I always replace them or install quality servos. If this is the third time the servos gave out on you that’s your own fault. The place carcass isn’t the issue 90% of the time. It’s always control equipment.
An unfortunate truth! On the channel however, I try to review and fly the planes as the come. That way I am showing the customer what they get when purchasing these products. To modify them unless unsafe or inoperative is not a true representation of said product. I hope to hold companies accountable by showing the true reality of their products. Unless we expose them and hold them to a standard you will continue to have to change your servos. Thank you for watchin and taking the time to comment...... I apologize for the delay in replying!
Nice planes/video!👍🏻👍🏻🙂 Sorry about the mishap.😢
What a great flying day 😊
Nice
Thank you. We need to share the sky again soon. Week after this pack the potato again if your down. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
@@redbeardreviewsrc Done. lol
Spot on.
Thanks Tug!
For you Bro. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pXVoxo-icda_d5c.html
Flight time with the 8s?
Right around 3 min. Usually have around 30% left on two 4s 5300. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
That additional weight sure helps on the smoother landings
Yeah, and the vertical is amazing even at 5,000ft..... it's the older set up too. Bet the new one rips!
i agree ailerons and rudder you can risk it but for sure you need the elevator always switch the stock elevator servo for a good quality one you can trust.
Good advice for most Freewing planes in many peoples opinions. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
def ? mm
90mm
RBM4E
Thanks brother!
Needs RedBeard on the Skull RBM4E
LOL I agree! not sure exactly what to do with it yet...... Stay tuned! Thanks for watchin Tug!
Outside loop with a EDF ✔️Need more Power RBM4E
Needed a better run at it with way more throttle! The wind was pretty fierce at altitude too! Thanks for watchin and commenting!
@@redbeardreviewsrc Indeed I will give you a shout out when I fly my SU-30 sometime in April.
Great Video and very helpful instructions Red B. I can see how TCat Charlie was a big help. My flying buddy has the 80 and it's taken a bit, but is starting to master it. We'll both get the 64 and intend to use the 10 channel AS3X RX, not that we don't trust the stock gyro, just so comfortable programming the Spektrum and like the ability to change gains in flight and get call outs on pack voltage. An SMC HiV 5900 is going in ours. Keep any updates and tips coming, I can use as much help as I can get. 😂
We don’t use any flap compensation and I did try it on 4000s it seems to lighten the wing loading
@@leovergo6117 Good to know, was actually thinking that this one would benefit greatly from a lighter pack than my favorite 5900, trading off flight time for performance. Thanks TCat! Will go with the SMC HiV 4400's first.
Definitely flies better with a 4000 on board! Landed with 26% on a 4000 after 3min! The HiV4400 should be perfect!
I have the 80mm Tomcat which is yet to be maidened and I was looking at getting this! A little bit concerned about how easy it is to damage though. On the 40mm E-Flite, I have to hit the sweep on touchdown just to prevent the quick disconnect from coming out. By the way, stall testing on the 40 nearly caused crashing, every time! Tip stalls hoooooribly. Thankfully mine is still in one piece. For the ballooning, maybe use full span flaps with optional CROW tied to the reverse switch? I know, it would require 10 channels for that. Lol. Ok, I’m rambling. Thanks for the great content RedBeard!
Tomcat Charlie here I would say get the 64 mm it is great and flies amazing if you look at the video the last four landings I do not touch the elevator I fly in with the throttle the 80 mm flies very similar but it has way more inertia and is very much less forgiving if you master the 64 will be OK on the 80
Tomcat Charlie here do not use full span flaps as it will aggravate the tip stalling tendencies the 64 mm does fly easier than the 80 if you’re worried start out with 4000s it’ll lighten the wing loading also take out the springs of the lightning gear replace it with fuel tubing. It’ll get rid of some that bounce.
Also, we got rid of the springs in the landing gear and replaced it with fuel tubing so I won’t rebound
@@leovergo6117 Did you use the fuel tube trick on the 80 or just the 64?
Hey send me your email address I got something you've got to see!
Hell yeah
Thank you brother & thank you for watchin & taking the time to comment!
Yours did better than mine. Still trying to figure out why one wing only swept forward in flight.
Was the wing still connected at the ball link? A friend upgraded the connectors on mine, video on that soon.
@redbeardreviewsrc yes ball links still connected after the crash and servos were in working order too.
Great maiden. DeadstictRC has the best maiden flight so far. Zoom zoom zoom Jeff in AL USA
This plane is amazing but alot of skilled pilot's have been havin issues with them, its almost like the mixing board built into the plane forgets to mix. Good save tho!!
Thanks brother! That was a close one, it's unforgiving and easy to stall. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
When I get mine, Im thinking some combo of adj FE mix, moving cg back, and 30% elevator expo (to mimick linear travel). I dunno how the blue affects this...or vice versa..
I would watch that aft CG. I found immediately that this plane does not like to be tail heavy at all. even neautral is kinda iffy. I have mine nose heavy and I cut back the throws on all surfaces. one guy out at the field tried flying his by the book. it ended up in a field. I have 20 jets. trust me when I say this thing is a handful if you set it up by the book. So much so that I am thinking the CG and throw recommendation is the book are completely wrong. I would start nose heavy and adjust from there.
Noted. I have since read aft cg can be tricky. That, along with the narrow, tapered wing on a small, heavy-wing loaded jet would prolly be a worst case. Your recommendation is helpful and I will follow it. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your set up thoughts with the channel, not sure what the blue is. I appreciate you watchin and commenting. Also glad you got some viewer feedback to warn you about the CG. I have mine set up close to book but with 10% expo and elevon mix. Thanks for watchin and commenting! Good luck with it!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the channel!
blue=blue box (Gyro) sorry.
This airplane loves to balloon, and when you try to recover by holding the flare the wing departs into a stall. I’ve had to punch it out of a stall exactly like that multiple times. Doesn’t help I’m flying in 20 mph wind all the time, but of all my edf jets this one is the trickiest to land.
Agreed, to everything! That’s is exactly what I have experienced! 20 mph is tough with almost ANY jet let alone one this challenging to land. You are a brave man and must be a good pilot. Thanks for watchin and sharing knowledge on the channel!
very nice!!
Thank you, it’s an addicting plane to own! Can’t wait to get it in the air again and get some swept wing passes in and really put it through the paces and test it some more. Thanks for watchin and takin the time to comment!
Great save!
Thank you brother! It’s a sketchy beast to land! Thanks for watchin and takin the time to comment!
Are you using flap/elevator mix?
Negative ghost rider! Sorry couldn't help myself! Doesn't need it. I recommend ditching the flaps as soon as you are on the ground to avoid it coming back up. It likes to bounce and get air again. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
Phoe nice safe! How effective is the reverse thrust?
The thrust reverser is quite effective. Make sure to use at least 9 channel receiver for the thrust reverse function! Thanks for watching and commenting!
damm this looks impressive 👍, is it possible to buy it even if i live in Europe? and for how mutch had you bought it if i may ask?
I got it for $500 U.S. from Motion rc. I'm not sure if it is available in Europe. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Wow! But where was Hangman! And how did Mav get the nose gear back?!
Lol! I nearly pulled a Mavric and tried to tear of my nose gear too😖☹ Fixed though, thanks to Charlie! Thanks for watchin and commenting!
Ouch!
There has been another since. Still working up the stomach to edit and do the video. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
It definitely is pretty flying!
Agreed! Very scale, nice ordinance package, wing sweep is stable and seems reliable so far. Thumbs up from me! Thank you for your continued support!
