If I set my outer foot like this, how can I then make sure it is set to also touch the throat plate when in down position? I used this method but now my outer foot doesn’t ever touch the throat plate.

Good afternoon! Tell me, on the Juki 1341 machine, with the needle and feet at zero position, how should the levers be positioned? You have them positioned vertically, but what about the Juki 1341? Thanks!

Thank you so much for the video. I had to replace my hook assembly and for some reason the timing was way off, last guy had it set very different than you showed. I followed your video and now my old juki is running perfect, better than before even. People like you make me keep utube as a super valuable resource. Hats off to you sir!

Hello from France ! Unfortunately too away from you. I have an Adler 167 bought 2 years ago. All was perfect, but today sewing a thick part of leather, the machine stopped. Now it doesn't sew at all. I have to fix the hook at the right place. Could you tell me if you have a video explaining how to do ? I know how to open the bottom of the machine but I don't see a gearbox like in this video. Thank you for helping if possible ! Hubert

Check your safety clutch first. It may have tripped. Your machine won’t sew until you reset the safety clutch.

Hello Uwe, we spoke on leatherworker recently about my Cowboy 4500. I was watching this video to check and correct the timing on my machine, and I ran into some problems I hope you can help me with. First, the rise of my needlebar at the 30 degrees mark is 7 or 8 mm on my machine. A rise of 5 mm is at the 24 degree mark. What should I use as a bearing for adjusting the timing the 30 degree mark, or the 24 degree mark? Secondly, the position of the hook needed adjusting too. I loosened the hex screw on the front side of the machine as described in your video, but there’s no movement in the hook. is there a way to solve this? Thanks again for your help!!!

My machine is doing the same on occasions catching thread between the back of the hook Singer and race, which causes the machine to jam ,how can I adjust the hook, but my machine is 7-33 I never new the hook can be adjusted in the race ? I thought the thread gets caught at the back due to the slow action causing the thread to drag at very slow speed rather than run smooth if faster, So how do I set back the hook on this style,?

Brilliant, just love the video you do they tell a lot within that short amount of footage , I own a singer class 7-33 single needle and a twin needle singer class 7 , with two of this type of hook and similar race, As the twin needle they only commissioned 200 hundred and were made 1930, they do not make the shuttle drive any more , and if anything wrong with my drive shuttle like wear or tear I have to add weld and reshape, So when I bought them the twin needle Singer shuttle drive class 7 definitely had quite a lot of work done to it over the years, like welding and reshaping with heat , As you show the way the hook takes the loop and carries around the shuttle then comes up and out from the back end gap, this explains the little jilt my shuttle do for the gap to appear at the back, allowing the thread to come up and out, now I understand it, But I notice on my one like yours had one time the gap never opened up enough when turning it slow, this just might be the slow speed was not enough to give the little jilt. I also think I need to look at my drive shuttle a little closer as I think I need to round the back off more so the thread slips up through the gap better, The Great things with these video`s they learn us allot how the system should work for smooth running,

Wow,brilliant What you show is very clear and precise footage` its the best iv ever seen on you tube by far, and I have watched at least 1500 video in the past year, everything to do with sewing machines, I really appreciate the detail of these video`s , especially the different split screen positions on the workings of a particular piece in one seen on the screen.that divides you from the rest out there, very clever. Its very clear and illustrate showing exactly whats going on, Never have I seen some one else go to this much effort to explain by film without speech, Demonstrating great information on the correct distance needle to shuttle and other etc, Please continue making video`s I can`t imagine the time its taken to produce these, but believe me its been worth the effort, You educate thousands of people that will really appreciate your efforts putting these out there, Any one that watch your films will have the confidence to adjust what is appropriate to get the settings correctly no problem, Music ain`t bad either very relaxing, Thank you

I can report these directions are not appropriate for the CB3200. The first adjustment of setting the needle bar height at its lowest point to 26mm is not possible. Using digital calipers I checked the measurement of my machine from the needle plate to bottom of the needle bar at its lowest setting and recorded it. I loosened the set screws and attempted to adjust to the recommended 26mm and it maxes at 25.8mm. I returned mine to its original settting and secured it. Hoping to locate detailed directions such as these somewhere. If anyone knows of any, please hook me up! Thanks!

So the bobin is just loosely placed that's why the looped thread can go around it. My goodness took me years and a lot of videos and explanation to understand.
