    Unfortunately not. The harness side is a merge of both FTE and 80 series harnesses. Bit hard to video. Have to get both schematics and work out which wire needs to go where.

    It’s been working perfectly so far. To be clear, before I sprayed WD40, it also worked but I had to press about 3-4 times to activate the grinder. Now it works perfect. Don’t overspray it. Just a few short bursts around the button.

    Start with the basics mate. Grab a multimeter and check continuity of each wire. Also check continuity across the pins as well in case you have a short circuit (two wires touching each other). From doing so you should find your problem. :)

    Thanks for the video. I was able to mount my X56 system to my desk. One thing that was different in my setup was my desk has a hollow core as yours appeared to be solid core. Instead of the galvanised steel I used 30mm aluminum (also from Bunnings), as I was conscious of the weight being secured to the hollow core. I used a screw at the front of the desk(where there is a small solid piece of desk) and one in the end of the 30mm section and used Liquid Nails along the entire section. Perfectly strong now with no issues. As such I didnt need to rivet an additional section. To access putting the screws in the 30mm section to the desk, I used a 10mm drill bit on one side which then gave me access to the inside of the square tube where I drilled a pilot hole and countersunk so the screw would be flush inside the square. The 25mm now slides in and out easily with just a little tension to hold it in place.

    you saved me quite a bit of $$$ with this videoi, thank you! I opted to replace the switch unlike others in the comments that decided to clean their original part. And that brought up a problem, the Defond CPU-1113 you can buy on the market is a self-locking switch. the cpu-1113 that is used in the breville is not. So for now, until I find the right part, I have to push to start and push to stop my grinder as opposed to the self timer it usually have.

    Interesting. There should be a momentary switch option rather than a normal switch.

  • @steverose4639
    @steverose46394 ай бұрын

    I knew this was the problem, having already sprayed switch cleaner into the actuator button and had limited success. But thanks to the knowledge gained for the disassembly method, I was able to get up close and personal with the aerosol spout, meaning it got a thorough soaking. Once all back together, it was singing like a banshee on the button every time. My tip for removing the three screws under the water tank is to use a small self tapper wound into the plug to aid removal, thus eliminating the need to dig all the way round the edge making a mess.

    Hey Brendon I’m doing the same thing with my 80 , only difference is my cruise is in the 100 series ecu , still two wires, and my 80 cruise stalk is a 3 wire not a five wire. Any advise on what goes to what and what resistor I need. Cheers.

  • @brendonv101
    @brendonv1015 ай бұрын

    You'd have to pull up the manual for the ecu cruise control and see what signal it needs. It'll usually tell you the readings it should be in the electrical fault finding section. Then just test your stalk with a multimeter to check which each wire does. Should be on/off, ground and signal for a 3 wire. Might not end up needing any resistors as it should be within your 3 wire stalk.

    I'm currently looking into making my own mount set up and this video hits the spot! Advancing the idea a little, I'd like to make the assembly retractable, either by unlocking from the bottom desk and having the controller portion swing and lock into the very back underside of the desk, and relock to hold it in that retracted state. Or more elaborate, using a hydraulic soft close cabinet assembly to retract to the unused underside of the desk. As I'm watching and reading everyone's homemade designs, I believe the hardest achievement I'll encounter is keeping the rigidity in its in-use state. It will require more articulation points. You did an awesome job on this. While the concept is simple, you've made something very effective that doesn't exist in the market even still. There are a couple popping up but they seem to all have traded stability just to slide a couple feet away and still take up productive desk space. Well done!

    Hi Brendon, appreciation for this post. I've checked anything and everything i could on my cruise control a few years back and gave up as i couldn't get speed being sensed. Think this video has revealed the missing piece... The entire speed sensor! Seems like the speedo cable must have been replaced with a non cruise control one so there's no facility to deliver speed reading to ECU. I had figured it must be taking a reading from the instrument cluster somehow after the gauge... Now it makes sense why i could never find info about how that works. Time to try track down the right Speedo cable. Cheers for giving me a next step after years!

But i can't change the grind setting from single to double or visa versa. The grinder only starts when i hold down the grinder button that you worked on here. So i need to hold down the button. And weirdly everytime i restart/power on the machine, the grind settings switch from single to double and visa versa. All the buttons works fine. I think it might be something in the computer side that's bugged

  • @jareda8943
    @jareda89437 ай бұрын

    This sounds like a faulty one, you might be best off seeing if you can warranty the device. Here are some tips: Reset the Machine: Sometimes, electronic devices benefit from a simple reset. Turn off the machine, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. This might resolve temporary glitches in the system. Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there's nothing blocking the button or the grinder mechanism. Sometimes, small particles of coffee or debris can interfere with the functionality of the buttons. Clean the Grinder: Regular cleaning of the grinder is essential for its proper functioning. Coffee oils and small particles can clog the grinder over time, potentially leading to issues. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning. Inspect the Button Mechanism: Since the issue involves needing to hold down the button, there might be a mechanical issue with the button itself. If you're comfortable doing so, carefully inspect the button mechanism for any signs of wear or damage.

    Fairly good instructions, but would be better if you showed removing the screw in the back under the plastic plug and also that you have to open that plastic box under the grinder to unplug the old switch and plug in the new one. You skipped over some important steps. However, I was able to figure it out and the new switch is working. Thanks.
