Ugh. Not a fun job installing those! I used needle nose tweezers and Loctite gel super glue. My advice- put a strip of glue on a piece of scrap cardboard, and dip the bottom of each IFF nose antenna onto the glue. Then carefully apply to the model. Good luck!

You're a braver man than I. It looks good but don't think I would attempt this myself. It would be nice if HM actually had the correct nozzles on their Eagles, and even better if they included both open and closed variants. But that probably will not happen as it would more than likely drive up costs and this hobby is expensive enough as it is. And frankly there are probably even more corrections and just plain old fixes HM could make to other aircraft. Won't see that for the same reason. But more power to you on these mods!

Congratulations on such an outstanding job. I am absolutely amazed with your results. As always, very formative reviews. I am glad that you came across my videos and gave you an idea. I think that’s a good point you mentioned We can support HM by enhancing their engine nozzle tooling. I’ll be on board to pay a little extra that way, I don’t have to do this project on every model. Imagine I’ve got about 8 F-15‘s from Hobby Master, and so far I have done two models. Lol. So all I’m hoping is that HM will catch our reviews and take feedback from us so they can enhance their tooling. return the salute. 🫡

Just apply some wiggling, try to use a light-duty plier or some kind of tweezer, and be careful of what position you hold the model in. Also looking at pictures of the actual plane from airshows, the color does actually look quite similar to the forest green color seen on the model, although it does differ greatly to the standard South Vietnam color scheme seen on other planes such as the A-1, F-4 and F-105. I wanted to know if you also notice the similarity in color with the real plane & the model when looking at airshow photos. I wish I was capable of posting the comparison pictures on here. This does however differ on sketches of the plane, both for the HM model and actual plane in which seem to display a darker green color. Not sure if it's just the picture quality or camera giving off the illusion, although it may have been why HM made the mistake. Continuously looking at pictures of the plane however, I'm starting to think maybe HM got the color right and it was the designers that may have gotten it wrong in trying to replicate the south-Vietnam color scheme for the actual real-life plane. I do see they will be releasing another demo team scheme "HA1338" so I wonder if that one will have the exact same scheme as this model or they will give it a more dark-green color. Edit: www.newsairshow.com/headlines/2022/12/13/a-10-thunderbolt-ii-demonstration-team-announces-2023-schedule This link has real-life photos of the plane and you will actually notice the forest green color as opposed to the darker green color seen on Vietnam-era planes.

When I was with VX-4 back in 74 It was a Black F-4J The story I was told the black was an experiment in night camo. it worked great at night but during daylight you could see the airplane before the smoke trails. at the time the skipper liked the so he kept the one painted black. One slow night while Corrosion control had the aircraft one of the sailors painted the bunny on it. once again the skipper loved it so it stayed. Vanderbilt Was the name of the squadron's first CO hence the call sign Vandy.
