  In addition to e-methanol there is microbial methanol, made using biocatalysis where inputs are converted directly to methanol at ambient temperature and pressure. (This is different from "bio methanol" is essentially steam-cooking of wood chips, followed by cleanup, then back to classic methods.) This microbial methanol also needs to be included in the dialogue.

  As they announce this fuel, the narrator says "it is time to find innovative & efficient solutions to provide future proof fuels, as the simplest alcohol methanol, kind of like, methadone probably because it has a tar kind of notwithstanding substance; however it is comprised of hydrogen, oxygen and a single carbon atom akin to: Hydrogeological conditions, it haves the highest Hydrogen to carbon ratio of any liquid fuel.

  The claimed range of trucks at 300 miles for BEV is possibly a non-problem for many truck applications since the legal maximum time between stop / rest is 4 hours. Truck speed is regulated to 56 mph in Europe - so 200 miles is about your limit without a charging opportunity. A hybrid FC and electrical road system seems more likely. The point about government assistance is not a great argument since all industries inc fossils have some sort of subsidy or start-up assistance. A universal fuel source that is readily available? Maybe, but only if the cost can be levelled.

  Also the EU government is still in shambles so I don't think it really matters what their legislations are on this matter as the demand worldwide for a much more economical fuel source than the current systems we have in operation presently will force all industries to accommodate and adjust to the new standard of CO2 emissions and overall use

  I think we also can make artificial fuel, my ideas are compressing and vaccuming ethanol or methanol with hydrogen, so the solution will contain more hydrogen, because more hydrogen = more energy

  Agricultural waste should be used to replenish soil, with methanol production being taken into account. Landfills should be consumed, my apologies to the next intellence to inherit Mother Earth.

  It takes 1.2 / 1.6 l of diesel to produce 1 l of methanol. So it's only a gimmick to make uneducated people think they are saving the world

  Green methanol has potantial for marine application. Gas turbine, steam turbine, dmfc coud be a good power unit which used methanol as a fuel. Steam turbine is more possible. Methanol can burned at external compustion chamber easily for producing steam. Steam which is produced at external combustion chamber drives steam turbine.

  Interesting at about 26:00 min : if I don't wrong, it only takes 1,308 liter of methanol per km in the second case, while 2,126 l/km of Diesel fuel in the first case, even if a liter of Diesel fuel has more than double the energy of a liter of methanol - that is the huge boost in efficiency (even considering the increase in weight in the methanol vehicle case) !

  Diesel fuel has about 2.5 x higher energy density per volume than methanol, and 210 vs 650 gallons means about 3 x less volume of diesel than methanol, so in this slide they claim that a diesel powered truck is about 25% more energy efficient than a methanol fuel cell truck. 1000 mi / 210 gal = 4.7 MPG (2 km/L = 0.5 L/km = 50 L per 100 km) for diesel 1000 mi / 650 gal = 1.5 MPG (0.6 km/L = 1.6 L/km = 160 L per 100 km) for methanol
