I come from a time before high speed internet, youtube, and instagram. vx1000 footage and almost every skate video prior to HD has been 29.97 INTERLACED frames (or 59.94i) which is actually sampling motion at 59.94 fields per second. When played back on a standard tube TV, classic skate videos filmed at 29.97 exhibit the same temporal motion at 59.94p(60p). When skate videos first started getting posted to the internet, all 29.97 (59.94i) videos were de-interlaced to 29.97p which effectively halved the perceived frame rate we were all used to. Our goal is to present these classic videos the way the artist intended with the full frame rate.

I can't believe this was in 2002. Crazy how skating evolves to fast. I remember watching this at 13-14 years old when it came out on VHS. Skating and life was better back then. Everything was a lot more pure.
Anybody know when in 1992 this came out? Wondering because I always hear Daewon had the first documented hard flip in Love Child, which came out in August of the same year, but that's definitely Steve Olsen doing a hard flip back tail at 0:23 and 7:57. Maybe they called it a kick flip body varian nose slide or something at the time.

It's weird a f to see Rodney Mullen fall, that credit card when he tries to kickflip that set was horrible but it didn't look like it phased him. It's awesome that nearly every skate video ever is on KZread. My dad calls KZread "the archive of the human experience". Touche'
