Hello friend! Welcome to our tent camping journey!
We are MK and TJ, a husband and wife team from central Arkansas on a mission to tent camp in all fifty US states. We’ve dreamed up many travel plans and have always talked about going to every state, but until now, a road trip across America was just a dream. Since 2020 seemed to be the year for new things, we decided that it was the best time to start this crazy journey tent camping across America!
When we set this goal, we also committed ourselves to documenting our experiences through film. After returning from our honeymoon in 2019 with hardly any pictures and video, we knew that we had to be intentional in capturing our future travels.
We are beyond excited to learn all about our home country and we are thankful for everyone who is traveling with us through this page. Thank you for following along!:)

Couple years ago , I got caught on my bike by a derachio they had. Super intense !
How much cash did you go thru for the week?
Did you train for the ride ?
Enjoyed watching your RAGBRAI Adventure. One day I may do it.
Your title is a bit misleading since it’s a portion of Mt. Manitou you are ascending; not Pike’s Peak. Great video, nonetheless!
Notes taken 🤓 Thanks for watching!
Typical cafetaria lunches in the Netherlands are een broodje kroket, two slices of bread with two croquettes, the bread can be white or brown bread served with a very small 'salad' and mustard, een broodje bal met jus, much like the the kroket, the jus (gravy) is best served on the side for dipping the bread in it, and een uitsmijter(bouncer): fried eggs with cheese or ham or both on bread.
We live about an hour away and try to visit Mountain View once a week. Love it.
It’s a pretty special place :)
Thanks for showing some of it coming up. I am trying to judge if I can get back up lol .
You can do it! 😄
Alma
Did Alma incorporate?
@@MKandTJ yesir…10,578ft
@@bubbalovesoatmealadventure108 Sounds like we will have to make another video :D
@@MKandTJ I stop for pizza there once 🙂
What a great job guys. Loved it.
Santa Clause! Thank you for watching! 🧑🎄
Leuke videos
Thank you! We can’t wait to get back :)
Cades Cove is the best. The loop is easy & lots of fun.
For sure! I think next time we go we may bike it! What do you think?
So where can I buy a spare cap for this inflatable air pad. Mine broke and seemed to have lost it.
Great question! I think REI discontinued this product. I noticed that they didn’t have any last time I was in.
Oh jc you are in luxury. You would curl up and die really roughing it lol
What exactly does “roughing it” look like to you? Lol 😂
First one wheel I've ever seen. Now I'm curious
They are so fun but a bit dangerous lol 😂
During WW2, the USS Drum completed 14 war patrols. She sank 15 Japanese ships for a total weight of 80,580 tons, ranking her number 8 on the list of top ten highest scoring US submarines of the war.
Wow! LOVE this! What other fun facts do you have?
Most people don't know that at the end of the war, the japanese coast was shelled by several US and UK battleships. The USS Alabama was one of the battleships in those operations.
@@StephenNorrell-ps2do amazing!!
MORE MUSTARD!
ffs....
More mustard! Lol 😂
Huh! I've lived here for 6 years and my wife's been here 13 years and neither of us heard of the Funky Twig. We'll have to go sometime. And it's funny because while you were shopping at Hart's, we saw two of our friends just randomly in your video. Glad you came to our little town. Diversity is our main goal here. We are 95% all friendly and close, and the other 5% don't stick around too long. I live on the Historic Loop and all of our neighbors are all real close. Occasionally, we will have a little get together. We own two pot bellied pigs that people stop by to see often. I am the local DJ at KESA FM afternoons and we hope all hope you come back to Eureka, especially during our many outdoor festivals and parades. Great video. Thanks for sharing
Make more videos pleaseee😉😉 You guys are so down to earth and have great editing skills!
The 1st crawfish you pulled apart had a large black strand hanging. You want to make sure that is removed from the pice you are eating. It is the intestine and full of not so nice stuff.
🤢 I feel like that should have been step 1!!
@@MKandTJ They call it de-veining. The comment was more for you to be careful as crawfish, shrimp & prawns are damn tasty but oftn expensive.
Welcome To Louisiana Guys ❤️
Thank you! What a beautiful place with such a unique culture!
I’m going to that area in October, is there a link or contact info on that delivery service , I’m very interested in that ❤fromTX
Planning to do it in June. Thanks for a great video!
Can’t wait to hear about it!
Love Mountain View! We were roaming around the square one night after 10 going back to the hotel when we stumbled across a group playing in a parking lot by the public restrooms. They were the best and played for us (and a few others) until close to 1am. Best night ever! The Rainbow Cafe has really good food all the time and Anglers is great out on the river. The wing shack (don't know its real name) by the Walmart has the hottest wings on earth. My husband choked down about three of them before admitting defeat. And the ice cream at that little shack by the music store is a must have on every visit.
When in Leadville, the best resturant for me is Casa Sanchez Mexican Resturant. My wife and I are on a conquest to find a Mexican restaurant that compares to our local Ohio one, El Campesinos in Wooster, but Casa Sanchez is close! Love it!
Would you recommend this tent for colder weather w rain and wind camping?
You're brave to go 100 miles.
Thank you! It was our first and hopefully not last time :)
Trikes stand up on their own.
True!
If you were to take the rainfly off, can you easily see the stars through the mesh at the top? Or would the tents with the complete mesh interior be better in your opinion?
Excellent question! If we took the fly off we would be able to see the stars. However, because this tent is technically a 4-season, there is less mesh than what you might want for sleeping with the fly off. Your field of view is basically the sky only rather than the sky and your surroundings. Hope that helps :)
I was born here in 1968
Happy 56th birthday! 🥳
Y'all are alive??? It's been so long! Can't wait to see more of your adventures!
Yeah the last year has been absolutely nuts! Hopefully an update video soon. 🤞
The Ozark Folk Center is in Mountain View, Arkansas, Blanchard Springs Caverns is only about 15 miles away. Fishing in the White River, Mirror Lake and various creeks , bird watching, walking and hiking trails, hunting, a drive in theater, a history museum, disc golf, regular golf, genalogical research centers, art, craft, cooking/canning , many homecooking style restaurants and also fast food joints and music classes are a few of the other things available in Stone County.
Sounds amazing 🤩
Hi, we arrive at Heathrow for 7 hour layover and want to do the same, a very quick walk through. We considered just getting to St. James Park and maybe see things from there but aren’t sure. Do you know how we’d get to where you went? Heathrow express to Westminster? Or is it Heathrow Express to Paddington then to Westminster? How long was the walk to Buckingham Palace from where you were? Where do we go to get back on a train to Heathrow. Any advice would be so so helpful
I hope I’m not too late in replying! You might have to take a different train from Kings Cross- it was about a 15 min walk to the palace from the station. Maybe less if you walk fast. Totally worth it!!
An update video please or explanation for the break? 🙂 Happy to see this pop up in my feed.
🤔 a good suggestion!
Good to see you back!!!
Yeah the last year has been absolutely nuts! Hopefully an update video soon. 🤞
Good to see you guys back. Love the video. :)
Thank you! Yeah the last year has been absolutely nuts! Hopefully an update video soon. 🤞
Really cool to be at a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans!! 🎉 The one in St. Louis is always pretty good too, but a little wild! Lol 😅
I’ve missed your videos! 🎉
I Wanna GO There!!! - another excellent "be with us" Vlog. __ Googled it -- the French connection is a celebration of indulgence in food on the last day (Fat Tuesday) before Easter religious fasting. Sooo your focus on new Food tasting was also very appropriate and well done.
I love them :) ❤❤❤
They are great!
Love you guys. Headed to anchorage this summer. Is Mahany’s boat ride worth it?
In our opinion YES! Especially on a clear day if you can make that happen, but still great even with cloud cover. Mahays has different lengths of boat rides and we didn’t do the longest but we wish we had. Highly recommend! Tell them we said hi if you go! 🙂
I'm going to guess that TJ is a Capricorn and MK is a Libra.
That Airbnb looks cute! Can I ask you the name of it?
What month did you go?
Thanks to rbnb, people cant rent a room for college or housing in the city, even if they realy need it. Watch "zondag met Lubach RBNB"
Great video! Also, have you checked out Alma, Colorado? Alma is at 10,522 feet in elevation, 10,158 is Leadville, so Alma is a few hundred feet higher.
Thanks for watching! We wanted to go to Alma but couldn’t fit it in!
Over 50 years ago, I was a young teenager who was coaxed to perform on the courthouse stage in Mountain View. I was a yodeler. Being from near Hickory Ridge, Ar, they nicknamed me "the yodeling ridgerunner." I surprised some of the older gentlemen (some were in their 80's and 90's) knowing a lot of OLD songs. Mr. Jimmy Driftwood and his wife were very nice to me. It has been years since I was able to go back there, but I still have a lot of fond memories.
Is the herring itself pickled herring?
I don’t believe so!
Charming video you made. Hopefully you had a great time and the bitterballs didn't burn your mouth too much ;) Good job on the Haring btw. A lot of people can't appreciate them because they find them too fishy.
Forget stroopwafels. They're also available in the US at Walmart. Is she a realtor trying to sell the Airbnb? Calling The Netherlands "Holland" will p#ss off the Dutch. Yes, every Dutch 4 year old child knows NOT to bite immediately into a kroket or bitterbal. You probebly cracked the enamel on your teeth. Herring is not raw. Also, have you heard of sushi? Licorice? It's not typical Dutch. Go to Scandinavia. Never eat food from a "hole in the wall". You don't know how long it has been sitting there. It's definitely NOT fresh.
