What about the pythons and boa constrictors in the Florida and Georgia swamps. Released by pet owners they have produced a huge population that has decimated the native wildlife such as deer, rabbits, raccoons and even other reptiles such as baby alligators. Also, the giant Asian hornets whose nests have been found and destroyed in the Northwest area of the United States. The fire ant was brought here years ago on a ship with lumber from South America. Our government doesn’t allocate enough money to help eradicate these problems.

Clinate change has been happening since the beginning of time. We only have a little over a few hundred yrs of records. Ice age never had pollution to contend to. Lets not forget India and China refuse to lower their output of pollution, yet America has the looming green new deal that will further flush the econony down the toilet.

Potatoes are cheap right now. Buy and learn how to preserve them or just buy canned or freeze dried potatoes. Make your own pasta. Cheese freezes well. Eggs freeze well but you can buy powdered eggs. There are vegan egg substitutes (flax seed and chia seed) Apples are in season in the fall. The price goes down. Dairy farmers have sold much of their herds. They were dumping milk because of a glut in the market. Buy powdered milk. As long as the bag remains unopened, it will last a long time. Once opened use it up within a year. You don’t need olive oil. Just buy a cheaper oil. Feed corn prices rose because of drought in the Midwest. This year there is plenty of rain. My area is no longer in a drought situation. If this year follows that trend, we should see better corn yields and prices. As a small farm, we grow and preserve our own produce. If you have a yard or even a balcony, so can you.
