Thanks for sharing this build! How often do you need to empty the poop trays when there are 15 quail in there?

Normally about every week. My chickens love it in the summer months. There is usually a combo of high protein feed and maggots.

I like it and will give it a go. At that angle do they on poop on each other if roosting underneath each other? I read one recommendation for bars to be 12 inches apart vertically and horizontally but that seems very spread out. Yours seems less than 12 inches horizontally. If thats okay, then ill try this!

I guess my concern is one of my young chicks (4 months now) is definitely a roo. Caught him trying to mount some of the 1yr ild hens i have. I have 2 that like to hide when they lay so sometimes i don't find a chashe until there are a few eggs (so a few day). I separated the little roo. So i guess for a month i can just toss eggs they hide that i find at after they are a few days? I plan to check a couple of the eggs from the last few days two to see if maybe he wasn't really successful yet. 😳 I just don't want a blood net in my frying pan.

If there is blood in your eggs, it isn’t from him. It her issue. Collect it eggs everyday. Look everywhere. And yes you may toss eggs you know you didn’t find the first few days a girl laid in a new location. Girls definitely like to be broody this time of year.

I cut my hen's out carefully, she didnt panic. The infection was big - about the size of a marble. I sprayed blu kote on it and within 30 seconds her comb turned dark red and then purple and she died. I was told it wasnt the blu kote, that she probably already was compromised because the infection was so big. This was not my first rodeo with bumblefoot. I've treated two others successfully the same way. So for her to die it was sad, for sure. I want to note that she never was limping, and was eating and roosting fine... Although i dont think she had laid an egg in a few days - thats hard to tell with as many as I have. The infection was on the bottom of her foot and I couldnt tell until I did a routine foot check.

So sorry for your loss. She may have had more internal than you knew. Chickens have a way of hiding their problems until it is too late. We have done this procedure many times since this video. Always cleaning our instruments and washing our hands throughly after. We bandage after.

I *just* drained the gas tank, cleaned the carb, and put in fresh gas! Started and ran for a while. Then this happened. I guess there was probably crud in the gas tank that washed down into the carb And i need to clean the jet again?

From Donald great job on your video, but why isn't there plastic or nylon, aluminum circle cover at spindal to deck to stop grass from pileing up on deck to sweep, or air blow it off ever time, seems my 2006 craftman YS4500 deck get covered with grass like crazy 🤪 but my old 198's rider 36" cut don't get grass on deck at all, it's spindals are completely covering deck mount up, So I got do same cover my air slots completely

I just replaced mine on this mower and I have a question. The originals that I removed had no grease fittings. The new ones I installed do have grease fittings. Do these come fully greased or do they need to be greased before using the first time?

Very fine tutorial! I've got a (Ugh!) Harbor Freight Predator 52cc power auger that just won't start. It's about six years old and started to stall after running a couple of minutes when I used it last year. I threw it in the storage shed over winter and didn't drain the gasoline but did add stabilizer. I recently decided to see what the problems were. The fuel lines were deteriorated and the fuel filter was rusty and semi-clogged, so replaced those. Put in a new spark plug and replaced the old carb with a new one ($16 @ Amazon). Cleaned fuel tank and added Start/Conditioner/Cleaner fuel. Replaced the air filter. And it still won't start. FRUSTRATING! I'll try the spark plug check you recommended to see if it's actually getting ignition because that's all that I can think of. Maybe it's time for the junk heap and moving to the newer Ryobi 40v electric auger but I'd hate to do that as i Have three different sized augers for the Predator, which, of course, don't fit the Ryobi shaft diameter.

I hatched 20 chickens in my incubator, after one week one developed ryeneck. I want to tractor supply and what selenium and vitamin e in a tube made for goats, I fed her two times a day a pea sized portion. The next day she showed improvements. I continued for 4 weeks, she's currently 6 1/2 weeks old seems to be completely healed, jumping flying pecking acting like the rest of the little chicks. I tagged her leg with a zip tie so I can tell her from the rest of the flock, but she seems to be just fine
