    I have a bunch of books from decades ago and was looking to have CGC evaluate the obvious ones like NM 98 and ASM 300 but after seeing this and the videos about CGC switching books I don’t see how CGC can be trusted.

    Great collection MRC! I like the Dr. Strange 182 cover. Nick Fury 1 is one of the most iconic (and under-loved) covers.

    Just got my order back from CGC and of six books two have the shaken comic syndrome and one has the same damage as your your ASM 252. Dang it now I have to fully check the full six again. Im very skittish now on sending any more books to them.

    Wolverine #1 has a spine roll. But that could be pressed out. Top of the front cover looks like it could use some more work. I see a slight wave right around the word "Monthly." The back is clean, though. Tough back cover. Black and white. The miswrap is the white part that overlaps from the back cover. A spine roll is not a miswrap. Research it. You can see the spine roll starting at 6:58. With further pressing, I think you should get a 9.8. You can even get rid of some of those invisible spine ticks. Do this and I think you will receive a 9.8 on the resubmission. A miswrap and misalignment are commonly mistaken as a spine roll.

    Thanks for sharing... I was reluctantly considering a submission but will now forgoe it. CGC is a mess right now and their assumption that they are the standard when it comes to 3rd party grading is mistaken. CBCS is my go to bow when I submit. I still prefer grading my own books and keeping them protected in top loaders.

    If I could make a recomendation, look back at your video and compare the times we see a blank plastic holder to the amount of time we see comics. Show your comics longer and don't have them cropped so we can't see the top or bottom just the middle 75%. This way we can look at them a little longer while you talk. Great content though, thanks

    I've never submitted to them, there has been a few books that I have thought about turning in, but idk now. collectors have handed over the gavel as arbiters of what something is. I just don't like doing business that way. Raw all the way.

    Those are some really nice books you picked up. The Dr. Strange 180 was a beauty. And most people do not understand what a good book that X-Men 25 black and white issue is, it's basically the equivalent of a Platinum Spiderman #1.

    Your video is absolutely 100% FACTUAL as the current quality assurance process and procedures for the CGC warped inner wells is just unacceptable and ridiculous. I just received back from CGC a Modern submittal of 25 books. It was blatantly obvious that CGC has a defective products issue (warped inner wells) as I also experienced the exact same problem you presented. In CGC's defense, this defective product issue (warped inner wells) must have started to occur just recently as I've never had or seen this issue in my 20 years of submitting to CGC. In any case, whoever is currently in charge of CGC at this time needs to be fired!!! Good Job on making this video!!!

    I see a lot of books with the inner wells going up then down like a banana I don’t think it’s damaging the book like 80% of the Cgc slabs I’ve seen have this

    I don't know if this is the same issue but I have noticed for a long time the CGC books I buy are all wavy inside the case . I made up my mind a long time ago to send any raw books I want graded to CBCS . Their cases are much nicer , better fit and clearer , no newton rings .

    I had the same problem this spring. They damaged one of my comics. It was flawless upon submission, and it DID receive a 9.8, but the book is UGLY now! massive, hideous spine tic right in the middle. And the inner well looks like a banana!! On the left side, when viewed from the left. So frustrated.

  • @PackRipperJohnni
    @PackRipperJohnniАй бұрын

    Thanks for updating on this, it has to be horribly frustrating. I did send 3 of my books back that had the same issue, they are currently in Scheduled for Grading under "Mechanical Error" so will see what happens. I compared those 3 books of mine against many other slabs that I have and there is clearly an obvious difference.

    Thanks for putting this video together! The exact same thing happened to me and I thought I was going crazy. I press and clean my own books and am hyper sensitive to and sort of spine stress seen before I send them away. My last submission came back with the grades I was expecting...but they look completely bent in the slabs...to such a degree that they present a few grades lower. Crazy!

    Sorry dude, that is ridiculous, and the sad part about it is part of the reason people slab their books is to preserve them for the future. I don't slab books, I did it once and wasn't happy with the results. I would rather spend that money on more comics and be happy with what I grade them as.

  • @MakeRoomCollectibles
    @MakeRoomCollectiblesАй бұрын

    Thanks man. Exactly. I read these books, then wanted to preserve them and maybe add some value to them. And if I still have them when I pass on from this life for my wife or kids to be able to sell them a little more easily if they choose. I had so many silver age key and silver age high grade books I wanted to submit, now, I'll use that money for more books instead.
