If there wasn't so much math, and the need for pencil and paper, I would get this game. I would have no problem if I could use some sort of token marking system for whrn mechs take damage

This is an amazing video. Just picked up some battle tech yesterday with a friend out of curiosity not knowing what we were getting into. There were a lot of other videos and manuals making it difficult to understand but this video cleared it up in an amazingly simple fashion for such a complex series of rules. Amazing!

I find it disrespectful that somebody made a video a year after this guy, called How to Play Battletech in 15 Minutes. Utterly disrespectful, deceitful and chicanerous, 7 Minute Abs-ass tomfoolery.

I'm just starting with BT, still reading through the rules, and I have to ask... if it's a relatively big battle with heavy 'mechs with many weapons, how in the nine hells are players supposed to efficiently keep track of declared attacks, especially when 'mechs split their fire between different targets. Just write things down? =\

So what exactly caused the ammo explosion? Was there a failed roll that we didn't see there?
@themanrightbehindyou6 ай бұрын
A critical hit to an ammo slot will always cause an ammo explosion. It can be mitigated by CASE and CASE2, or by dumping your ammo. Some weapons like gauss rifles have inert ammo but explosive weapons instead.

The "anything can be used as a figure" rule is what makes this game much better than Warhammer 40k. It means that you don't need to buy a $300 set of figurines just to be able to play and enjoy the game.

Hmmm. The rules are just so complicated - at this point it’s like play the pc games. I think I’m going to look for a fun battle mech game that doesn’t require 3+ different tables to generate a hit 😮😅
@hmad898 Жыл бұрын
take a look at battletech alpha strike. it simplifies the game a ton for faster play and all the rules you need for your units are little cards that come with all of the force packs currently available. turns all that work needed just to do damage into "I need to get a 6 to hit, rolled an 8, so I do 4 damage". nice and easy. no worrying about ammo, all of your weapons, or hexes, or all the different parts of your mech, and the only table is the critical hit table. it still has a good amount of depth to it, but not so much that it's super daunting to learn. rules are free online too.

I am confused on how LRM’s work exactly. Like how do you decide how many missiles are fired and does your roll determine where it hits or how many missiles are fired or are they separate rolls?
@themanrightbehindyou Жыл бұрын
LRMs are marked with a size ex: LRM15 that determines the number of missiles it fires. The hit roll is if it hits at all. The cluster roll determines how many missiles hit out of the bunch. Those get divided into separate location rolls for each bundle of 5.
