Amazing Douro. Douro is History and stories of the people who built it over centuries, lacing its schist walls and terraces.

Nice video! We are planning a day trip to Douro Valley from Porto. We thought about going by ourselves by train and then, visit some wineries, have lunch in a quinta, do a cruise and why not wine tasting. We heard Regua, Pinhao/Tua were the best spots. Are they walkable? Is it convenient to do the trip on our own? We are not sure how to book lunch, wine tasting, etc. Is it possible to freely visit wineries or should we book something? Many thanks for your help!

You can focus on Pinhao and walk to several wineries (10-15 mins walk) or take a cheap taxi. I recommend making advance bookings. Contact the wineries directly to make reservations. You can also book with Quinta do. Bomfim which is in Pinhao here www.getyourguide.com/pinhao-l89870/pinhao-quinta-do-bomfim-visit-and-tasting-t402159/?partner_id=P8L5N1Z&cmp=video_comment

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples.Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.” - Isaiah 55:1-5
