I think I was at the game the song originated it was Sheffield United away in 1976/7 there was a comeback of teadboys and punks and the sund/land lads were singing aginst each other and the teddy boys started wise men . by the way on the way out we got ambushed by Sheff we'd as well

Love hearing this at games. Like 'Abide With Me' at Wembley, it's spine tingling when sung by a crowd. Heard Hull sing it at Anfield last term, didn't realise you Mackems sang it as well. Make sure you get a round of it in next term.

Much respect from the U.S...I'm a big supporter of the Columbus Crew (as indicated in my picture). A few weeks ago, the scoreboard literally caught on fire and the supporter section provided the soundtrack for the match (including the national anthem). Up 3 nil against our rival D.C. United, in the 85th minute, we broke out into this chant (I can't help...falling in love with Crew...Columbus...Columbus). Yanks love football, too : )

If the club are pushing it as a "lively singing section" they're not going to expect people to sit down. You either move and make it work or you remain in the same place and fail to help improve the atmosphere within the ground. Your call. I know what I'm doing.
