Thank you Chris
Really helpful, thanks! The plus button to add grid lines is a game changer!
Quick tip. When you insert a pdf reference, go to it's properties and turn off the layer that blocks out the text. Makes it much easier to read the grid dimensions and bubbles.
YES! Great tip!
It's all crazy helpful stuff for playing around with these things. Really! In case you're curious - cartesian coordinates is the specific term for "things" moving around in X, Y and Z.
When I import the esti-model IFC into power fab, I didn't get the Holes, Web holes and welded studs in power fab. Can you suggest the option to show it please...
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Recommend you review your additional property sets for the IFC export. I don't know what your localised setup is, however your local support will be able to help you to evaluate the options. Hope this helps!
So many great tips here! So many bad habits I'm guilty of - eesh! Orienting the CHS bracing via the workplane tool and setting the rotation to zero so that the drawings are along the plate axis is a game changer! Some of those point tools are going to come in handy too! Thanks for the video - very helpful indeed!
thanks. learnt a lot with good explanation
Thanks sir.
The 2nd part selected "owns" the bolts. So if bolting through 3 plates, the 2nd plate selected will take ownership of the bolts.
Searching KZread to try to find a better method for flange and web holes for nailers and blocking... This 2nd method is exactly what I have been doing and it works well, but it's soooooo slow compared to using the Reducing Studs component for threaded studs. That is basically automatic and totally customizable. I wish they had a component for placing holes with the same wizard as the Reducing Studs component.
I'm curious how this works with a specific email in your inbox, vs having a file folder saved - drag/drop doesn't seem to be an option ?
O
Thank you for your best explanation with practice, it was so interesting and so useful.
What environment are you using
Good morning Chris, I just wanted to thank you for this video. It has taken me a very very long time trying to find an easy way to add wood nailer holes to beams, and this is it. I am having one problem though for whatever reason. Once I delete the individual bolts and make them staggered and save, reapplying the connection deletes some of the bolts that I want to keep. It's strange and might be a bug. I am using Tekla version 19.1 SR7. Either way, even if I save the connection prior to deleting each bolt to make them staggered, it saves a TON of time on my end. If there was any way for me to buy you a beer, I would.
Hello, thanks for sharing. How could I model the concrete slab with which it is filled after the steel deck? Would I have to manually cut the concrete slab with the steel deck part? Or there would be a more automatic method.
You don't address multi drawings or GA drawings ??
Hi, you're right. The process is the same as for single and assembly drawings.
hi my a12 is heating too much... what could be the problem?
Thanks for the comments! I'll pass your comments to my concrete pals and will ink their content in the description!
Hi i want ask you something ? Can you write an email adress. Please
Hello. Is there a way to export file as another merged IFC model, instead of trb file?
Amazing Video
Thanks for sharing this Chris. Ive recently moved back to hot rolled steel detailing after many years away working within the modular industry and I'm a little rusty (pun intended) but I found this video along with your others very useful.
would you pls create a comprehensive video about the bar bending schedule? model a simple foundation and let us see how it works with annotation.
thanks alot can you please make a videio about foundation of portal frame no vedio availbe thanks
Thank You Nice Man I want models project 100 -150 video
thanks Chris, Is it possible to save the file type as IFC or any other option is there for changing TRB file to IFC?
Hi Chris, I have both models loaded as you did, but on desktop Trimble when I try to see both models at the same time I can't, it's like they are too far away from each other any ideas?
If your models aren't aligning the first thing to look at is the basepoints and making sure they're the same. support.tekla.com/doc/tekla-structures/2022/int_base_point
Hi Chris, Thanks for the message. looks like to edit base points I need Tekla Structures, I only have Trimble Connect free version, the two IFC I have are one is generated my me, the other from a third party. Normally when I do this both models are visible, and I can use the move command and move B inside A and align it. Do you know another workaround?
Nice share
Could you advise me How to export IFC (Steel fabrication view) with color
Chris, is there a chance we could save our mirroring settings, I use those commands a lot and you don’t always have a grid to mirror from so setting a point along a line from the end grids is a bit of a pain.
thanks
👍
Great tips, thanks
Thank you !
Thanks for the tips, Chris.
Hi Chris, how do you modify the connections in the module?
Do we need to allow deflection gap when placing one unit on another?
This is a question for your engineer
@@chris_gatehouse I understand that. In this model how it is modelled with gap or without gap.
This is the purpose of the column projections above and below, to allow you to bear the columns onto each other whilst keeping the cassettes apart.
Very nice work. Is it all made as custom component or have you used OpenAPI?
API!
Great example of how robust systems make life easy (easier).
I answered you in the AS group
Excellent! No time wasted... quicker than this? Imposible! Thanks
Great video Chris! good to see Tekla in action again
Thanks Maysara! Hope you're well!
Nice! Thanks
Thanks for sharing
You're welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

Great... useful... clear... thank you.
