It was a cool concept, but Pinball 2000 was too expensive to own and repair for arcade owners. Meanwhile the new video arcades were attracting all the players and were both cheaper and easier to maintain. So, the pinball machines faded out. I actually don’t like these machines because the top 3rd of the playfield is devoid of anything but flat targets due to the video mode.
There's more to Williams getting out of pinball. they along with the Bally rights were acquired by Scientific Games, around this time that they attempted Pinball 2000, who was already into things like state lottery/gambling, Bally's roots believe it or not were actually slot machines back at it's inception in the early 1930's. Midway was spun off as an independent company and sold to American Amusements and driven into the ground.
Great video! I appreciate the mention about the inside artwork, that'll make it look so much cooler!
Really great video, something I really want to get into. Side note, another one of my hobbies is animal skulls... hydrogen peroxide is great for making the bones white.
It was Jar Jar Binks killed pinball 2000.
Did I miss a mention of the pinduino kit on the ramps? Great video!
You got ripped. When I bought my complete set for $1200.00 it also came with an apron cover as well. I never used the idol and still have it, because I bought a 24k plated original idol and liked it better. It does look amazing, but I can't understand why they wouldn't include the apron. Needless to say I sold my Indy for 20k, but it was completely all good armor, the Elite Topper Ark, with the Dior ruin set. Such a beautiful machine I wish I had it back!!!
Thanks for the installation video. Really wish you had included some footage of the installed dragster light operating though.
Pinball 2000 is the inspiration for Multimorphic.
Thanks for the video, Dude. I actually watched the whole vid, in anticipation for this topper to come in the mail..this gave me a very good grasp on what I'm in for..we appreciate it! The integration of the lit modes is actually going to help when playing I'm thinking!
We're honored to be in your feed once again, and that song made our day! Thanks for taking so much time to create such a thorough but still concise walkthrough of the install process.
Amazing
The executives of the company klled it...
Great video! I just installed mine, and this was very helpful. Thank you!!
Believe it or not, TAF is actually the game that killed pinball. It was so good people didn't want to buy new ones. It stayed at "A" locations much longer than any other one.
Episode One came out after RFM.
I bought a Roller Disco from them👍
I don't know what's more beautiful the game room or the art teacher. Great looking room btw!
Revenge from Mars was and is a great game! Rememeber the day it came out!
I definitely didn’t take advantage of all the stuff there. Well, not that I have any games new enough for all this cool fancy stuff. 😂. Thanks for the tour.
Well, they’re not mods They’re just upgrade parts for the pinball machine.
What parts did you use to convert to video monitor. And were can you get the new code from.
When I see these mods, it pisses me off. As much as these tables are they SHOULD come like this! Looks awesome tho
Just purchased some LEDs from you a month or two ago...nice product. Great story.
UnACCEPTABLE those slobs at Stern give such grossly insufficient directions on installing those small balls!! At that price & w all the engineering, not ONE a them geniuses had the simple foresight to see how bad that is?! 😖🤦♂️ I’m hoppin pissed & it ain’t even my game! 🤷♂️
Looks like Mars Attacks under that blanket...
Really nice! Beautiful job!
Amazing room
Cool stuff! Where are you located?
Dallas TX
I played the final 2 Pinball 2000 (unfinished machines) "Wizard Blocks" and "Playboy." Awesome for what they were. I wish Wizard Blocks would've been released before the end. RIP Bally Williams pinball.
I did very similar in 2016 with a project RFM I came across, complete restore new side art with cab repair, pin blades that I had custom printed, etc. It has a custom topper with fog machine and interactive spaceship lights that go off if you 'attack mars' and occasionally on a timer some fog comes across the top. Custom speaker grill art, all the aliens, spaceship hand weathered and detailed, etc. It was my first ever pinball project so I went all out, even the inside of the cab is painted black and red. Had a lot of fun doing it but don't think I will ever go that extreme again lol. Happy I did because RFM is a great overall machine that everyone who plays enjoys (not just pinheads).
Incredible job Alex! Would you mind sharing the specs for those LED strips? Source, etc? Thank you!
If you check out epsiode 3 of the series I go into detail about the LED lights kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqqbydVwZLS6qNI.html
Nice work! This tables needs this.
Absolutely brilliant, mate!
LOVE the passion and creativity going into these atmospheric backgrounds !! I think if anyone going in there who has never played pinball, will instantly become addicted. Would be a great place for a dad to take his kids for a few hours. I hope you make some good money doing all that foam art work.
Not sure I understand why this system killed a company, but the multimorphic system seems to be working, even though the concepts seem similar.
Great looking room. I'm jealous! DFW and the pinball league definitely have some great places to visit!
This guy roolz!! 🤘🤘🤘Subbed! I just put those new silicone-based Superband rubbers on my TSPP and they DO bang those balls w a little more SLAP. I love em. ✌️
Now those toppers are worth the $$
Diamond Jim’s a PINHEAD?!! 😯 I LOVE DJ! I met him at the Penguin Magic Expo in LA years back. We talked awhile on the way back from lunch. VERY personable guy, very curios to learn about others, not just talk about his work. I sure wish I’d known that THEN. Can’t wait to see this vid you refer to! 👍
My GOD!! If I ever dare get shaken down for a JJP machine, it’s either Oz or Wonka. But this really makes Oz come ta life. I’m blown away. Anyone know what version of Oz they’re on? I heard they’ve money-grabbed w at least three different releases. I hope I’m wrong. 🤷♂️
this was filmed on a Ruby Red version
Makes me wanna peep more of your content. Nice! 👍
Took me straight back to my youth thanks guys ❤
This was the first pin I bought. It didn't kill Williams pinball production as it was a huge hit. Star Wars P2000 did that as it's practically a giveaway when you buy a P2K system now. Other than the Apron and possibly the backglass the rest were easy to source or fix on this one.
You sold me on the Pinvision speaker light upgrade. Just put a deposit in for my new JP I got last month.
Fun video, just a quick suggestion if you are going to do fast motion I recommend you encode at 60fps instead of 30. It make the fast walking you are doing less jarring.
Just amazing what you have accomplished. Fantastic game room! Enjoy… and thanks for sharing.
This show looks incredible! I would love to attend someday. Thanks for posting.
Amazing game room! Thanks for sharing.
That PinVision system is amazing!
