  thanks for the cool coverage....the entry way where the brother comes out the window was in the back of the house. That was an add on cause the driveway went straight to the back. It was cool to see the inside of the cafe too!

  Growing up, as a dumb kid, I didn’t know that when we visited my cousins in Pasadena, we were just a mile or two from key filming locations. It wasn’t until I was in my 20s when I became a fan of the franchise that I looked up these sites and realized how close they were to my cousins’ childhood home. Lots of neighborhoods in Pasadena give off Halloween vibes.

  I'm not certain because looking at this scene, they had to have a cart/rail with a camera attached, and I looked like they could've filmed it by the road where this scene took place.

  That was filmed on the same street right by the dance scenes. They just kept using the same streets and made it look like a longer street

  I love that you found the opening scene for thriller……….but in 1986 there was a movie called night of the creeps it kind of reminds me of thriller especially in the opening scene for it but especially there is also a scene in the beginning where the sees meteor fall from the sky and they drive away well when they leave from looking over the city the shot where they drive down the road is I think the same exact shot where thriller was filmed………I can show you what I’m talking about but you have to put it exactly how I put it but here it is type in “ night of the creeps 1986 directors cut comedy flick axe at the car” type that in and watch it entirely and you’ll see what I mean …..and if you line the tow car scenes up perfectly they’re identical

  Hey Dixie.. honestly, it was in my eyes. So much that I got a membership. It's a really cool experience. A word of advice though.. unless you're a seasoned drinker, you may want to eat before you go and def arrange an Uber or DD. The drinks are tasty af, but they'll hit you like a ton of bricks. I would say this is the Willy Wonka of bars lol

  Wow. Real Cool. By Deductive Reasoning, You Can Come to The Conclusion that The Director Would Not Choose the First Site As It Is a Main Vein for Car Travel. The Exact Location is Less Traveled by Vehicles, Meaning that One Has More Ability to Control the Shoot. The Thriller Video is Incredible.

  @@explorewithtao i was at the Palace Theater door last year, my first time in L.A.,amazing feeling. I just realized reading a Vanity Fair article that the premiere took place at Crest Theater and that Prince (another fav of mine) was there!! i search for pics but anything is out there, just that he was there among other stars, amazing.

  The interior shots for the theater scenes were filmed inside the Rialto Theater in South Pasadena! Also, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium (Not far from the Rialto) is where MJ did the Moonwalker for the first time

  Parking was the hardest part. But if you want to drive.. I think because Christmas is over. Depends on if people are still going. I'd say at least a 10 min drive around to see all the houses. Better go in the next few days!

  It's really hit and miss. During this time of the season, usually the weekends you want to avoid. I'm not saying it's impossible if you want to take your chances, but if you do go, park a few blocks away from the main strip (Mission Dr.) and walk a few blocks. Trust me lol.

  That was that old ladies video... there's a long story behind that video.. But according to her, the guy that posted it told her he could "convert it for her," but he took advantage of her and posted it without her permission. Those kids are her grandchildren in that video, and one of them was having a birthday party. Yeah, pretty crazy story.

  @@explorewithtao Thanks! This is my absolute favorite movie series and seeing some of these locations for myself is on my bucket list. The Universal Studios lot where they filmed the Hills Valley courthouse scenes is not though, as it's not a real town. I hope you do Part 2 and Part 3 in, ahem, the future! One place in Part 3 I want to see is where Marty comes back to 1985 from 1885 and then the Delorean is promptly destroyed by an oncoming train and then Jennifer and Marty see Doc and his family arrive by the time travel train he made! I do know where that is, and I was surprised to find out it's only like a block from the ocean!
