Is this in a botanical garden? What a shame. I'm saddened to see botanical gardens are now just venues to take wedding photos. Why not just idk.... Grow a tree... For the botanical garden... Of it isn't then fine
The corpse flower has to be the funniest flower in the plant kingdom for me, it's like it read the rules of everything a flower is supposed to be and is consciously and aggressively giving said rules the middle finger. "You want dainty and fragrant? Size of a toddler and smells like rotting meat. Take it or leave it."
wasn't at close range... otherwise the bones would've looked like oatmeal
I ❤ wax seals. I found then at a Hallmark store when I was a little girl in the 80’s (yes I was there to witness the crazy 80’s) I have loved them ever since. I can’t wait to visit The Huntington.
Exciting!!
Ick.
How do you shoot the back side of your hand with a shotgun? Must have beeen sawed off
That claim makes zero sense. He fired a shotgun with bird shot into his own hand, at about 20' distant?
I like it
I live in FL and won’t be there to see it in person but I’m super excited to know when Odora blooms 😍
Amazing !! Such care and dedication to authenticity ❤ very much appreciated thank you 👏🏻👏🏻
Recruit a bunch of third graders to make you eraser crumbs for free. You’ll have tons.
Beautiful
Hey- my name is Dora!! 🤔😳🤩😂
I saw photos (from the late 1800s, I believe) of a Midwestern botanical garden that had the biggest lily pads I've ever seen. The Victorian era folks in the photos were actually standing on them! I've been interested in lily-filled garden water features ever since. Beautiful!
Wish I could see these bloom in person but I really appreciate the live feed you're doing! ❤🌺
I’ve been collecting antique seals and they are truly fascinating
I once bit into a guava, in Maui, and found a tiny starting ant colony! Luckily, I didn't eat anyone 😅 We were all very lucky. I placed them safely on the side of the road.
Those things are so hard to grow.
We need more like this
Can we talk about the size of the hand!?
Looks like a placenta
The irony of a poor rich person!😵
ah, the lake killer
Wtf bone didnt shattered....?
I upvoted thinking you were going to say something.
Considering the wound, it is highly likely that the backstory was creative.
Birdshot, won’t kill you but it fucking hurts
Obviously birdshot bc buckshot would take out the side of a truck
How do you shoot yourselves accidentally in the hand with a shotgun??
Great image. What glove size would that be ?
I want to work here just to feed the plant a banana peel 😂
Wonder if he got cancer after using that old x ray 😬
Very interesting peace of history
My Granddaddy had a huge one that he tended to for as long as I can remember! Every couple of days when grandma made sweet tea they would empty out their tea bags into the staghorn to help it grow. I still cherish the memories of when I got to go out with him to feed his plants, but he was especially proud of his big healthy staghorn fern!
looks like he got #6 shot at about 15 yards or so, not so short range.
I mean, unlucky to get shot. But a damn sight lucky keeping all his digits.
I don't see that plant here in the Philippines. Even in the forest.
Would’ve been nice to say when the actual x-ray was taken… So for anyone wondering, it was taken in February 1896. This x-ray is 128 years old 😊
Hey murica, stop stealing our stuff.
This man just added a side quest for my antagonist, thanks man, i subbed
WOW, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR BEAUTIFUL PLANTS WITH US ALL. LOVE AND LIGHT BE WITH YOU ALL.
You are insane
I would have liked to know what the date was at the time when this happened.Being not familiar with this type of specialty. But I'm really interested in it.
How cool, I love plants!
Giving me Officer Murphy vibes.
❤❤❤
It seems people lying to their doctors is a time-honored tradition.
Could I get more context on why the guy shot himself in the hand?
We're all going to ignore the fact it looks like an alien hand. 👽
The last few hrs the bees have been digging holes in my garden instead of making a bees nest Is this normal
