i'm getting my braces off in a year, which i am so excited about. but my ortho told me which retainers i'll have instead of choice and he said i'll have two permanent retainers, upper and lower. and a removeable plate retainer/hawley retainer. i don't mind the hawley retainer if that's what he thinks is best for my teeth, but i am a bit worried about the permanents in case the have a build up of plaque

This kid isn't going to remember all this. She's going way to fast to be explaining something new and foreign to him. She didn't even demonstrate how to floss and sweep under the gum line, how to brush top and bottom or flossing around the brackets. Like show him...not just say like so after you pick it up and put it down.

My dentist put just 4 attachments and said to wear my 7 sets in 70 days. And I won’t see him for 70 days. Is that the norms? I just started it about a week ago and do not feel any pressure or discomfort. My only discomfort is taking them off. My finger nails already broken 😞 .

When it comes to braces at an older age, you want a quick result. Always go with traditional braces, Invisalign takes way too long and they do not correct overbites and other conditions. Invisalign is more for people who have had braces at a younger age or they have minimal issues with their teeth.

I have the option of getting fixed retainers or removable retainers. I lean towards removable retainers, but that’s based on my belief that having metal in your mouth isn’t exactly a good thing. If you have the option to do without metal, I’m definitely taking it. But then again on the other side go the spectrum I do think fixed retainers are probably more reliable.

I visit a dentist today, and she always discouraged me to wear braces cause I'm 38 already. The dentist is in her 50's she lacks some dental equipment and I believed she's a traditional type. I felt discouraged at first but I don't believed her. Does anyone here had braces even if you have fixed bridge or jacket? I'm wondering if that is possible.

@@Moinul-Khondokar hi yes it was actually me that had the extra tooth. I got it out in December actually a lot less painful then I thought I didn’t feel it at all in fact. The tooth I had removed was in the same spot as the little girls in the video and it was just the one thank God. It happens I believe, when your mouth gets overcrowded and your teeth have no space on the jawline…. It’s a routine extraction as it’s very common. I hope this helped
People in the comments are talking about being nearly done with their treatment,, I was told i'd have to wear mine forever. The first month is the most important, but sometime after that I can begin only wearing it at night. Am I the only one who has to wear mine forever? O_o
