throwing "pesticides" is literally what poisoning villages and fields with agent orange was. And not to destroy some bugs but to destroy crops to starve vietnamese. Side effects were cancer and mutated kids.

Many celebrities from his generation were former military members. Actors such as Clark Gable, Ronald Reagan, Alec Guinness, Christopher Lee, Elvis Priestley, Johhny Cash, and others were all in the military. 😂

The American fighting force is a combined force. When rescue missions are required, the system deploys the closest, most capable assets available.

I got K9 right after tech school and served for four years. There's pride in what I've done, but security forces never helped me becoming a police officer in our large city. My USAF duties mostly involved guard work. I checked ID cards at gates, guarded ammunition supply areas, and walked the perimeter fences of bases at night. This was painfully boring. That's not police work. Our Asvab score ties with becoming a cook. S/F is where they dump people who flunk other tech schools. We worked long hours in outside elements for the same pay as admin people. The 24/7 duties made it more difficult to attend college or use the gym to prepare for PT tests. I had never participated in an arrest or seen one made. Guarding missiles which never moved is not helpful becoming a cop. Maybe OSI or CID is. I have much respect for those serving, but security forces is the worst job in the USAF.

so it's now 2024.....the flight engineer position has been long since eliminated on civilian airliners. I'm not up to date on the military though.....does the USAF anticipate that FE's will still be used in the near future on multi engine ac? got a recruiter talking to my son about this as his MOS.

Former SSgt R L Montgomery (1986-1992) 507th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, AGE Mechanic, F-4s and F-16s, Tinker AFB OK. You bunch of youngsters!😆 But seriously, my career in the unit provided me the funding to complete my BSME from the University of Oklahoma. My time with the 507 CAMS was and will always be positively memorable. After graduation, I worked in several private aircraft sectors as an engineer (i.e. Cessna, ARINC, TRW, etc.), where eventually I returned to Tinker AFB after accepting a position as a flight controls and hydraulic systems engineer with the Legacy Tanker Division, KC-135 AR (2013-2022). I stayed between 9-10 years before eventually moving on to the FAA (Boeing 737 Max, Aircraft Safety and Certification). I appreciate this recruiting video and do encourage those who are considering joining the unit, to join. You will not regret it. And those considering not re-upping, to reconsider. From AGE Mechanics, Crew Chiefs, all ground support members, Flight crew, and Administration personnel, thank you. NKAWTG!

Good job. Crew Chief is a really tough job. One works like a dog and gets put away wet every day. If you stopped any where on base on the way home, there was always some office weenie there to chastise you for being greasy or dirty. The Colonels would come out once a quarter and tell us how wonderful we were and then provide beer in some hanger for those going off duty. I worked swings and did not use alcohol. I lost so much respect for these people. Crew chiefs really busted their butts.
