This is another great musical gem from Mr. Lars Jansson of Sweden. This piece is so expressive and it reminds me of my sweet little grand daughter being 18 months that I once had the pleasure of being together with. Lovely moments. Sadly she is far away from me now but I reminisce her smile from those happy moments at the time. Miss her already but this lovely piece brings her back to me❤

Holy shit, that’s the part from the end of horse and rider! So cool. I was already thinking about how horse and rider connects to all his other songs that reference somebody escaping on horseback so it makes a lot of sense that it would have been played in this song back in 2020.

Leave me all alone, I need a distance over the water Stop chewing on my bones, said the fisherman's daughter Leave me to the swirl, I'm a grownup girl I'm an ocean thousand wishes wide I see you want to leave, leave over the water Childhood anchor, heave! You're really your daddy's daughter I leave you to the world, but you will always be my little girl You're an ocean of naive youth Wind blowing in her hair, adventure-glittering eyes Hello, Vanity's Fair! Goodbye, daddy's cries! I'm gonna have some fun - let it be done I'm gonna have a good ride Island daddy speaks to a mother's tomb ear My sailor heart shrieks. I'm afraid of knowing fear I worry over the sea, please let it be only me I fear a second goodbye Hotel rooms in Rome, back streets in Geneva Pleasure overthrown, her nickname was Eva Sailor man's daughter, moderation slaughter Time and tide wait for no man Can you feel the pulse of a girl's imagination Her theories of freedom were false, it was another mental creation Body fluids on sheets, souls that doesn't really meet Hot nights under the roof ridges of Paris A thousand memories passed, and a thousand customers ridden Blurry, dreamy past, and no letters written Walking by the shore - thought I wouldn't see you anymore I was a whore, don't ask me why This life I did not mean, I will never be the same I've lost my self-esteem, I suffer from shame Oh, daughter, cry no more, can't you remember what I said before You're still my Little girl and I love you even more

Wow this is fucking good, I have so many thoughts The fact that they're able to do so much with three people on stage is amazing. Such a no-frills, naked-feeling live performance; no pedals, no effects, no light show, just three incredibly expressive performers playing really good songs The amount of character in Richard's voice is staggering, the amount of skill it takes to play such complex, intervallic guitar parts while staying on pitch for his talkative, large-registered vocals is high, and he pulls it off seemingly effortlessly here For some reason I was a bit dubious that the songs from the album, which I love dearly, would translate to a live setting. I definitely wasn't expecting the live performance to actually be MORE impressive than the album tracks. The breadown from 5:49 to 8:52 is totally mezmerizing; thank God they allowed this talented drummer to flex his chops like that I strongly feel that Richard Dawson is not only one of the most underappreciated figures in folk right now, but rock as well. I think people are just kind of taken aback by the earnesty of his lyrics and raw sound. This dude can write guitar parts like black midi and lyrics like David Sedaris. His last three albums especially have been such high-quality, unique music; I'm anticipating more projects with an unsustainably high amount of excitement He might not recieve the mainstream recognition that I feel he deserves as a massive fan, but I'm at least glad that this crowd seems to have come specifically to see him play, and that a good portion of them seem to enthusiastically "get it". Also I genuinely don't think this dude cares as much as I do about his commerical success I hope to meet you one day Mr Dawson ! You're absolutely one of the most vital artists who put out work during the 2010s, and I seriously believe musical histories will reflect that

Som deprimerande nog 42 år gammal (fortfarande yngre än H.B.): “The fire never dies”. Kanske, låtarna ger samma känslor som tidigare. Fast nostalgi är inte monogam. Den versen om gammal kärlek skulle i mitt fall kunna handla om Erika, Maria, kanske Sarah ...
