My half Dobie just got to 6 months and the excessive indoor alert barking, attention demands, and leash reactivity hit us like a truck at once overnight. Going to stay strong, calm, and loving!

That can be super tough to deal with and you're just starting to enter the teenager phase too where they'll be pushing boundaries. Don't worry, once you really start closing in on 1 year of age it gets better, trust me it does. What you describe is super normal for that age. Your pup is frustrated. All that energy and drive pumping! Yes be super calm, consistent, and find new outlets for your pup will help. Also having a super consistent routine each day as to WHEN your pup will get those outlets will help with the anxiety because he/she will know when the outlets come each day like clock work. You got this! And THANK YOU for the super thanks, your support is so appreciated!

This account helped me turn an “everything-reactive” owner surrendered 8mo old puppy into a rock steady 3yr old dog. He’s now the pride of the school bus stop, great on leash, and friendly to dogs of all sizes and breeds.

My buddy's dobie who I've known her since she was a puppy loves whenever I come over. Sometimes we'll get nose to nose, look into each other's eyes and I give her a little peck on her nose.

Doberman puppies are so damn cute, but you better enjoy that stage of their life as much as you can, because it doesn't last very long. My two girls topped out between 70 to 75 pounds at 4 years old and never change until they passed at 9 and 13 years old. For me, female dobermans are the perfect size dog.

I took my doberman (European) to college classes with me. I was very fortunate to have agreeable professors who did not mind his presence in class. Rommel loved going to class! He went everywhere with me, and was, as my friends said, "bulletproof." Very calm, loved everyone. A real people dog, except with people he did not know. He would not leave my side until he was comfortable. Then he turned back into the goofy, loving dog he was. Great dog, I still miss him to this day.

As someone who socializes their Dobie pup everyday I can (Rd n Rst 14wks) I had a thought, when he’s napping I tend to scroll through instagram and tik tok, and we cuddle for a bit because great bonding time. I watch these reels right in his ears, at pretty loud volume and he stays sleeping. Would this count as socialization? I guess I’ll see in the future as he ages how calm he is to sounds but if this helps me I hope it can help someone else!

Doberman males and Golden Retrievers females are the only dogs that are recommended to keep intact for health reasons. Neutering is an endocrine disrupter, which needs discussion.

You don't know what you talking about. The sign of a working dog is to be relaxed if not run around hyper all the time not running around hyper all the time.... And the way you say this is just something nasty about it about $600 and $3,000 like God made two pieces of crap and you had to pick one that cost the most. You psychotic

Good advice as always. However, I think you missed an opportunity to remind viewers that they should be extremely cautious during the parvo period. You should never take your dog out anywhere during that critical time when the Dobermans are susceptible to catching parvo until they are fully vaccinated. Then by all means go out and socialize your Dobermans 👍

Another one is when they'd use their nose as a probe to jab you in your crotch or butthole as you walked. My family called our Red Doberman a Proberman. When he was excited to see you or wondering what you are about to do he'd have to jab you in the crotch or butt like "hey what's up?". He was at the perfect height and it was hard to defend against because he was so quick with it.

When I would go number 2 in the bathroom I could have sworn my Doberman would put his chin on my lap and pray for me. It was like some ancestor of his died taking a crap. Or it just could have been gus concern for the slight "strain" on my face.
