    My bro and I did this a couple years ago.. We bought a set of block and tackle rigging, and a cheap wench. Then rented two beam lifts, and we were able to move 3 massive beams all the way to the 3rd story of a house without breaking a sweat, and without risking an injury

    If it was your house then you would have a badass house. We are adding a second story to a 90 year old house. This video you commented on is us adding an under pad we underpinned to the existing foundation. During this process we noticed some of the old floor joists were crowned with big hips in them that caused the existing floor to have higher levels than the rest of the floor. So before we added our new subfloor plywood we hit the high spots with a skill saw Kerf technique then we smoothed out and leveled with a power planner. The final product is awesome level subfloor. Even though this section is going to be under the new washer closet we still wanted it level. Thanks for the lame comment lol

    That was a HORRIBLE install job with PATHETIC final results. I don't think I would have used THIS as a video of "How To" unless it is HOW TO make a mess out of what SHOULD be a simple install.

    you obviously don’t know what’s going on in this video if you think it’s just a simple install hilarious. Regardless of what the finishes on this video, it can inspire someone to do something similar and that’s good enough for me to post this video. Do you know the owner of this property is an artist and is going to do something cool with that strike and paint it in a way that the Finish just needed to be the way we left it but appreciate your feedback. Just try not to be a dick next time.

    @@co-know-proconstructiontips If you are putting up a How To video, then you SHOULD KNOW HOW TO. IF I am a dick for pointing out that the wood work around the strike plate looks uneven and even improperly finished, then I am good with that. This IS a simple install, the fact that this person couldn't adequately complete the job with a professional and finished look isn't my fault, and I CERTAINLY wouldn't put this effort online as though it was a proper install.

    So me and my wife built this last night. I followed your blueprint and it seems to be top heavy? I haven't added the actual shelf yet but it seems as if I add the shelf then it will tip 🤔

  • @co-know-proconstructiontips
    @co-know-proconstructiontips23 күн бұрын

    have you added the casters yet? If so, you may want to bring those a little bit further away from the front edge of the bar set them the furthest you can from the front edge of the bar. that should help and as far as the shelf if you referring to the bar top, that should help keep it from tipping because it will give it more weight, pushing down in the center of mass. The inside shelf as well will help give weight to the inner part which will keep it centered. not sure why yours is top-heavy. I have not had that issue with the ones that I have built. This is the only thing I can think of. Let me know how that works out once you finish. if it ends up being top-heavy, no matter what you do, you can put it in a fixed location and add two clips and anchor it to the floor on the inside of the returns then you’ll be good. It won’t go anywhere. let me know how it comes out 👍
