Great bike! Perhaps the very best in terms of reliability and all around everything
@@thegutsyninja8851 was a nice bike, but I never really felt comfortable around 100km/h, especially in cross-winds. Tried the Givi screen. Have a 1300cc cruiser now - feels super stable and comfy at all speeds.
I’ve got a 2007 DRZ400S for dirt and a 2014 VStrom 1000adv for street and gravel
@@repetitivemotion nice one mate... you'll upgrade the DRZ to a KTM and the Vstrom to a cruiser and never look back 🤙✊️🍻🤣
@@AdvHQ actually the DRZ is as far as I’m going with off-road and I also own a 2004 Honda VTX1300C. So I have all the bases covered. I’m 66 so I don’t think I need more performance in the woods. The DRZ works just fine and it’s paid for.
@@repetitivemotion awesome mate, sounds like you've found a good balance. I like the lighter feel in the bush as I'm getting older but I probably can't use that against you as I'm only 43 🤣
@@AdvHQ I know what you mean. My trail-riding buddy rides a KTM 350 6-day. I would like one but the cost is prohibitive, plus I’m just used to the DRZ it fits me. I’ve got a couple snowmobiles and 2-stroke racing karts too, so I ride on dirt, sand, asphalt, concrete, snow and ice, 12 months a year. I’m blessed
Yeah like you knew that wasn't Gunna happen , anything for views right ...pair of dumb qlders
Hello, I also bought the airflow windshield. In which of the 3 positions did you mount it on the Suzuki holder. Did you also change the mirrors? Did it do anything? Kind regards, George
Go the 500. What nav setup are u using pease?
@@holden3083 bloody 500 left me for dead on Saturday - broke down, middle of bush.... 3 hrs pushing it uphill before mate came with strap to help tow. Replacing fuel pump and see how I go. Nav is Garmin Zumo XT - it's super easy to read on the go but I have no idea how to mark waypoints or anything technical - just never sat and played with it.
@@AdvHQ are the good old fuel pump strikes again. At least u don’t have to worry about your calories for the next week. lol. Cheers.
Do you have a preference for the honda or kawi?
@@7450gwar101 not really. We bought the KLX new but he wasn't big enough and the CRF came up for sale around the corner. Both perfect for young riders. The KLX feels more comfortable ergonomically and power wise to me. Both easy bikes to ride and learn on.
What size are you fitting in medium?
@@nathancordova4618 I think so mate. I was gonna order the large online (as most items are L-XL that I order) but when I tried these the mediums fit well. Best to try a set to check for yourself.
@@AdvHQ I just bought a pair of large off marketplace. I hope they fit!
@@nathancordova4618 Good luck mate, if they're at the right price and you're mostly confident, it's worth the risk! They're great braces!
Great vid I just purchased a 2020 model, can you tell me where you got your parts from? Cheers in advt
Exhaust was Delkevic website, tyres, crash bar and skid plate (uninstalled and wouldn't accept refund) was Sunstate Motorcycles dealership. Good luck and enjoy the bike mate - I've moved on to a cruiser now (and dirt bikes).
now that looked fun mate 😁👌
Good fun, but wares ya out! Cramping towards end of that ride (4-4.5 hrs) and on drive home.
Thanks for another great ride buddy. I'd do that loop again
Cheers for the ride mate 🤙✊️
Wicked trails, eye spy @MAKENTRAX sticker on the klx front guard
He loves it!
Never been out there, looks pretty cool
Not too bad - great if you like MX, which we're not too keen on, some nice trails and heaps we didn't get to. Was great for Cal to get practise but road in will rattle ya falsies out!
Such nice farther
Where to buy this, can help me with link please
I put the code for the screen in the vid mate. Look the code up in google. I sold the Vstrom ages ago.
Look at you on a cruiser and now you’re swearing and carrying on 😂🤣😂 Enjoy mate
Haha must bring out the inner beast 🤣 haven't felt so comfy on the road before this ride, and this is just the beginning 🤙✊️
What an awesome bike!
They are! The Stiggler needs one 🤙✊️
She sounds incredible mate, absolutely lovely
Thanks Rob, I haven't used comms for music since getting it... the pipes are music to my ears 🤣
Great review mate question what lenght shaft on the motor guide?
Was a 60"... was too short. Would spray the inside of the boat in a small chop.
Confidence is growing every time mate keep up the good work young man 😎✌🏻
was good to get that little stack out of the way (thankfully just a couple of scratches) - he learned a bit about down hills from that. Was good to get three back-to-back days in... started to back himself on little hill climbs, etc.
what year aprilla tuono mirrors are the ones that will work? alos how tall are u, i just ordered the givi af for mine as well
Hey mate, sorry can't really help any more than what's in the vid - sold the Vstrom over a year ago. Good luck with yours, and enjoy 🤙✊️
Nice mix of adventures mate, remember if your not learning your not living 😎✌🏻
Cheers Bert... since getting the cruiser I've been catching up on a few of your recent 'Weekend at Berties' playlist.... it's a cracker 🍻✊️
@@AdvHQ thanks mate. It was an awesome few days sadly only one episode to go 😎👌 Have to get down here for a loop around Tassie ✌🏻
Apologies about the audio on the cruiser - will muck around with some mic settings before the next one. 🤙✊
Awesome backyard track hey👌
Hell yeah, I need one of these but I have one grouchy neighbour 😮💨✊️
Nice! Just picked up one of these in black. Excited to get it installed
Cool mate. Enjoy - bit stiff lining up radiator, guards and tank holes when it's new but gets easier after it settles in time.
Che scarico hai montato ?
Loved going on the ride with you my man.
Cheers mate. Pretty cool track for someone's backyard hey 🤙✊️
can you give us update? is it worth it? looks like its so uncomfortable to fish in jetskI? currently fishing off inflatable, but very risky for the ocean, jetski would be safer, but there's not much room when fishing? what would be your final opinion?
I still love the jet ski mate, but unfortunately I hurt my back in December and the jet ski hurts it way more than the dirtbikes do (hence no jet ski vids past few months). I don't want to sell it because it is heaps of fun and I hope my back comes good, but I did buy another tinny (smaller than my old boat) to go fishing/take faily out. Jet ski is definitely capable - yeah, not as comfy to fish from as a boat but the there & back is way more fun - all a compromise.
Awesome edit Jas. Great effort out there mate.
Cheers mate, great bunch to ride with. Looking forward to going back there to get more used to that terrain.
@@AdvHQ We'll have to catch up for a poke around out there, @kaosadventures probably be keen
@@MAKENTRAX I've booked Cal and I in for the training days on 27-28th, so hopefully learn some skills to translate 🤞🤙
@AdvHQ That should be an awewome weekend mate, I'll be there🙋♂️
well that looked fun "NOT" 🤣 i would have hit a HELL of a lot more trees than you did 🤔 and the diaganold logs would have put me on the ground darn near every time 😥 . keep well mate and keep safe-ish 😉🍺
Haha you'd be right Jeff - didn't see any DRZ though. I got a bit lazy at that part of the track, didn't lift the front over that little log (was wet coz of the creek just before it). What the vid doesn't show is the off-camber and gully hills well, was a lot of up/down, turn, log... good challenge for me and probably somewhere to keep going to improve. Thanks for watching mate
hi mate, many many thanks for not adding music….i just want to hear bikes and human efforts…oh yeah, also a big thanks for not saying “yeah boi” every 2mins like that MakeNtraX dude 🤫
Haha I'm guessing you know Darryl pretty well - nicest bloke you'll meet! Noted with the music - I add it in vids to help reduce the length of vids (clip to music beat) makes it a lot easier to edit.
Yeah boi that Makentrax guy 😂😂😂
Cool trails there. I've gone to using mousses, don't think I'll ever go back to air filled things.
Nice not having puncture anxiety 🤙✊️
could you please send the clips of me at the end if ya got any 2016 crf450 botten cheers
just checked the hard drive - sorry mate, I've already deleted the footage (I delete all the files after making a vid). You were too far ahead of me for most of it anyway (except when I was getting roosted!) Keep safe out there mate!
cheers sorry about the roosting I tend to give it a bit much
Looked like you was having a blast mate 😁👌 and the track looked sweet 😎 never had mousse on any of my bikes 😥one day i might get lucky 🤣 keep well mate 😉🍺
The mousses really are a game changer for traction, confidence and taking away any puncture anxiety but they don't suit onroad which would bugger up your commuting a bit hehe
@@AdvHQ yeah you are right 😒 i will just have to stick with lower air pressure and risk a puncher 🤔👍
@@jefftaswelder9154 yeah, I'm a freaking mess on the KTM500 with its tubes 🤣
@@AdvHQ 🤣🤔🍺
Nice one Jas, good to see you rippin again mate
Cheers Darryl, not sure about rippin 😂 feel awesome to be riding again! 🤙✊️
@AdvHQ Hopefully catch up on a ride soon
you make that look waaaay to easy mate 😮😒 but nice video and riding Sir 😁👍
Always a couple of heart in mouth moments out there, but it's good fun 🤙✊️ thanks for watching 🍻
What a way to spend the day 😎🤙🏻
Weather finally turned it on, on a day off 🤙🍻
Nice tight runs 😎🤙🏻
Cheers Bert, was a fun little blast as always. Thanks for watching mate
Il give you a trick too shift pull the clutch completely
I carry extra gas in 2 liter soda bottles. I carry two of them on the front. They carry gas for maximun 36 hours. I know iknow. When as a kid we extra fuel for the chainsaws in them. Never had a problem with them knocking around in the back of a pickup
Thanks for the review - I'm about to pick one up as a step up bike for my kids and for me to practice slow technical stuff - like you said, log hopping and stuff!
Nice one mate - you'll enjoy it, and your kids. My son will take over mine within the next couple of years too 🤙✊
Would you mind letting me know your Osmo Action 4 settings? Mainly the FOV. I found wide and ultra wide not so good as the rider in front appears to be far away though I am right on his arse LOL. Standard and narrow seem the better options, but what do I know. Plan is to record in 2.7K/25fps using RS and RS+. RS+ reduces the FOV a bit but I think it may help getting the rider in front closer. Cheers and best regards from the other side of the world :-) (Austria)
Stock tyres were not great anakee were good on road and dirt road 6 are great on the road
Looks fun
Awesome day mate, the rain really made the sand easy to ride over ✊️🤙
Great video, cheers mate Ive scrolled through your videos and it looks like you don't have the drz anymore. Im looking to buy my first bike, not long now until im off my L's which i plan on selling my 4wd to buy a bike. I think ive narrowed it down to the drz and the crf300. Is there any other bikes i should be looking at or is it an obvious choice in your opinion? (It needs to be able to ride at 100k/h as it will be a daily commuter as well as being able to hit the tracks on the weekend)
Sorry mate, I can't really comment on the CRF300, Rickos Moto went from a DRZ to CRF300 - maybe look him up on YT. I don't use my bikes full time, just weekend warrior stuff but I won't be getting another DRZ. So heavy and outdated compared to other bikes now - my 2017 KTM 500 is so much nicer to ride it's not funny - especially on sand. But it will probably require more frequent oil changes, etc. Good luck with your decision mate and stay safe.
Cheers mate, I appreciate the honesty. The drz seems to always come up in forums even to this day so it's hard to feel like it's not worth looking into but it's hard to justify buying a 20 year old bike I'll check out the KZread channel you recommended though, cheers. I just know if I bought a crf I'd have to do engine and suspension mods to get it where I'd want and was hoping to get something I can be happy with out of the box and I'd love that kind of bike but as a daily I'd be servicing it more than I ride it aha Ideally I'd like to have 2 bikes, 1 street and 1 dirt but I think I'll wait until I get off my p's so I'm more experienced. I'm even considering getting an adventure bike until that day comes rather than trying to turn a dual sport into one but I think I'd regret that when I finally do get to take it off road. I go away solo and don't want to deal with struggling to pick my bike up lol
@@JoshSinnott97 DRZ is a good bike mate. Good power, sounds like it would suit your needs - the more weight you put on it (tank, racks, etc) has a bit of an impact to how it handles offroad. I don't regret my time on one, I just now realise how much easier these other bikes are to ride - but as I said, I basically trailer mine and then ride, so completely different situation. Rick is cool mate - will tell you his experience - he likes to ride pretty quick but not waste money unnecessarily.
Thanks mate, I just posted a comment on one of his videos so it would be interesting to hear what he has to say The reason I was thinking about the drz is because I see crf owners buying new ecu's, suspension, big bore kits etc when all of that performance comes from the factory with the drz so even though it's a more expensive bike, you don't really need to upgrade anything besides the fuel tank. But the biggest thing working in the crf's favour is that it's got a street bike motor, so for a commuter it might be the smarter move for my use case. I just hate spending too much on vehicles because if I have to sell it one day, I'll never get that money back
@@JoshSinnott97 sounds like you have a pretty good understanding, maybe a near new CRF with all the mods already done but not used?
Great ride bugger about the wave 😖
Thanks for watching, was a ripper ride - it's always the last leg/track that gets us!
looked like a nice ride till it wasnt 🤔🤣 dont you guys carry the right tools to strip the bikes and remove the plugs 🤔😁i carry my tools everywhere i go on the bike , even a short ride 👍😉 keep well mate and stay safe-ish 😎🍺
Yeah mate, we had tools but they were only metres away from an easy to access carpark (easy to chuck on trailer and sort at home rather than pissing down rain and sand)... mate & I were always gonna turn and head back the other way anyway - bugger going into the ocean!
Yeah buddy🤘 the riding there is so awesome
Loved it mate, was good to give the back a good test and all good.... still get cramps tho 🤣
