Hey mate, I’ve got a similar issue with my Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro (Mine is Acros though). My head tube is the same as the Stereo, but my bearings are a ZS44 Top (with a plastic spacer to make it 56), and a ZS56 bottom. I’m upgrading it because the bearings are rusted and gritty, so should I just grab a Cane Creek ZS56 to ZS56? It will fit the 56/56 head tube like yours right?
just perfect🤌🏻
Thank you! Saved my day!
This did work on my 2018 DUKE 790 and probably will on all other dukes as well
Hi, I’ve ordered a new headset from superstar components for the exact model and make of your bike. The top bearing I’ve been sent doesn’t fit over my fork tube. Wondered if you had the same issue or if you recalled the number and top cup bearing size? Mine is about .6 mm to small in diameter. Thanks
Salute! by any chance, can you/anyone provide the 3D project file so we can print it out too? Thank you for your videos!
Worked on 790 Duke ❤
Thank you, much appreciated info 😊
Concept worked for me. Thanks!
Greatly appreciated 🏁🤙
Do you have a route map for this tour.
Good hack for this, but if you're going to do it very often I would just get the tools from fox, it's much easier.
Under my top cap in Actioneteam 140 from 2020, there were 2 pieces of FSA Micro-Spacer for Micro-Integrated Headset by default, which ensures proper pressure of this plastic ring to the bearing - I don't see anything like that under the top cap in your video. Can these bearings be replaced with, for example, crane creek? They have the same angles but are 1mm lower? Has anyone tried something like this?
Nice job, very easy to follow.
Thank you sir.
Information put across very well! Top video I’m going changing mine now 👍🏻
It worked on my 23 890R! Awesome!
Thank you, this has made my day 👍🏻
im just gonnaa bring it to the shop
Thank you!
Спасибо
Thank you so much for this.
Thank you! The service manual was not clear and said to press up and down for 3 seconds.
Much appreciated
Awesome!!
Really useful video! Got a creaky headset on my Reaction PFM 625 and now got some ideas for what to investigate.
Good vid and insight in to issues with the headset, I have the same problems with my CUBE STEREO HYBRID 140 HPC SL 2022 after 6 months, do you no if our head sets are the same size as I would like to purchase the seal bearings in ur vid , many thanks iain.
Thanks. Are you sure it’s the same problem? The cube website suggests it has an Acros headset in there which I’m sure comes with sealed bearings and also Not the plastic wedge. It does look the same size of headset though. archiv.cube.eu/en/2022/536152
@@sketchyscotsmanmtb9173 I think so, bike is at local glasgow work shop for service , ive had to have all the drive train replaced and they are saying bearings need replacing and is not covered under warranty , quite disappointed with cube , so was doing some research to see if any1 else had similar issues.
@@sketchyscotsmanmtb9173 yes you are right , had them replaced on Saturday sealed and no plastic , but still failed after six months , thanks again for your insight into this.
You make all these features look way too easy. Great video- I ride often at the braes and love it.
Well done sir 👍
Worked on my 890 adventure. Thanks !!!!
thanks man, this has been driving me nuts.
Thank You!
Thank you from Tasmania.
On the sealed bearings, you can service them if you want. You’ll need a dental pick or an exacto knife to pop the seals out, working on the stationary area of the seal that’s against the outer race. Practice on s9me old seals first if you have any and need the confidence. Once you have the seals off you wish wash them clean using an old toothbrush and some Dawn dish detergent. Dry them and pack with Phil woods hydrophobic grease and pop the seals back on and you’re good to go.
Thank you
💯💯🤘🏻🤘🏻
I think its good to know that this same headset purchased aftermarket comes with proper quality sealed bearings etc. but in a situation like this the OEM manufacturer ordered these headsets with these cheaper components to keep costs down and is not indicative of FSA products.
Music sucks!
Thanks love you too man :)
3d print file please. My 1 month old Cube has just began to creak....can you load to thingyverse or similar? Thanks in advance.
It is most likely that you simply need to tighten up the top bolt / steering nut, and also need to re-grease the bearings. The file he is printing is a very extreme fix, for a semi integrated headset. Getting those pre fitted cups out of the frame is difficult, and if you do it will also void the warranty. I absolutely would not recommend doing it. If you grease the bearings and tighten everything up, but find it still creaks, take it to a Cube dealership. It is only one month old so it is covered for everything that requires any major repair or replacement.
A very old traditional route (along with gypsy Glen) that was in use long before the Seven Staines was even thought off. The three Brethern route. Normally done as a loop with Caddon Bank at the end. This route has been ridden by riders on manual bikes for years so not just for ebikes. Having rode this on an ebike recently it does show a lack of use compared to a few years back probably as it is considered old school nowadays. I can't say I have heard of many people returning the same way you came.
Can you share the brand of that socket extender?
Thanks for sharing man.
i've seen some clamp the bearing eyelet in a wooden vice and wiggle those mounts free as well, works too apparently good vid thanks
Thank you from Northern Ca
Great vid Tony and excellent info! My riding buddy (my son Sam who is 16) is away to Scout camp for 2 weeks so I am looking for some new places to try and this looks fun to me as I like fast flowy with some jumps etc - he loves more gnarly stuff (think Comrie Black) - I'd be interested if the off-piste stuff at Ae provides some of that. Certainly on my list for a day trip :)

what headset bearing press tool do you use?
Hi Kenny, it’s just a cheap one off Amazon (amzn.eu/d/80LxsYH) there are much better ones out there but I change my headset so infrequently that this was perfect for me
Can you give me pls a model of full kit to change mine ? Not from amazon but good quality pls
awesome thank you!
