    ? U serious...stick to something that pays! You wack. It's over already.....throw that mpc in a volcano so you don't have to bury the ashes then say a prayer that you never buy or receive another piece of equipment that will desecrate or destroy hip hop...for as long as you live! Take an oath to start knitting and sewing part time O.K. I have heard better music from dogs howling at the moon! You SUCK as a hobbyist and make me wish the MPC was never invented.

    Thanks for posting this video. It gives me the Okay to tinker with the 2k classic I got (really cheap) earlier this year and it's been sitting because of the inability to see the screen properly (a few lines just kill the spirit). @@forsale313 glad to hear you're gonna give it a shot. i know there's a trick you can try for your screen depending on how bad it is but i'm blanking on what the trick actually is. i'll ask my friend who's tried it on his 2000xl and get back to you on this thread tonight. i know in the video my screen looks like it doesn't work but that's just because my phone isn't picking it up at the distance i'm recording from. if you want i can try to make a series of quick videos trying to map the menus out for you so you have some sort of reference. thanks for watching and taking the time to comment

    @@thomasfrom91 I use an rca patch bay for a lot of signal flow switching. I like it. Yes if you could adjust the fx amount & change the order of fx on the mpc it would be better. I mainly use computer, turntables, 404, 2 synths, & mpc. I wish I had 2 mpc1s. I could do a lot with 2.

    @@thomasfrom91 get a dedicated Ring Modulator (a.k.a 4-quadrant multiplier) with dedicated mod/carrier control! There are even passive options in the eurorack modular world, so you can get started easily without chipping in for an expensive power supply and have all the modulation/control you could need (and then some, depending on the module and how deep or experimental it goes).

  • @goonfish
    @goonfishАй бұрын

    You could also get a similar sound even easier with simple AM modulation (basically FM synthesis using audio-rate mod source, except you're modulating amplitude instead of pitch frequency). Or a similar sound with samples can be made using a simple sample & hold switched at audio rates (square wave oscillator at high frequencies/pitch, and changing frequency adjusts how large the "bits" are. Boom; analog "bit-crusher").

    i love the ren but for your money you might be better off with an mpc one for maybe $100-200 more. mpc one has internal storage (sd card) and can be used with or without a computer. the ren has no internal storage and needs a computer to operate. the issue with this is akai doesn't continue support for their older products so you'll need an older os if you use mac. the ren is the perfect button layout for me and the 16 q links are super helpful when chopping samples. idk if this has something to do with the os i'm on but my ren cannot get a clean sample from a vinyl. you could also look into the mpc studio black edition. it's cheaper than the mpc one but still has no storage of its own and no input for sampling but if you're sampling from mp3 on a computer it doesn't look like a bad option
