  New Orleans 80’s HC from Disappointed Ron and friends..! My pic is in the collage inside this rare gem of southern hardcore history, along with most everyone else active in the NOLA punk scene at the time. Cool to see it uploaded here! DP’s were originally known as Damaged Scum and played many shows all over the south, some with Teenage Waste (my band) + Shell Shock, Sluts, Red Rockers, Goners etc

  Just a little history lesson on the punk rock band " Lost Cause". It was started in the very early 80s in the city of Orange California. Johnny Ernst was the original singer, Danny Oberbeck was the drummer. Helmut "Willie" Zarth was the bass player.The three of them went to Orange High School. Johnny didn't last that long there though. Scott Mitchell played rhythm guitar and Steve Young played lead guitar. I would watch them practice all the time at Danny's parent's house. His parents were cool as ice cream. Kenny Kaine was the so-called manager. Lost Cause was one of the Cuckoo's Nest house bands, meaning they played there a lot. Along with other bands from that area, Convicted, Corruption, Discords, Saigon, Ash Wednesday, too many other bands to mention from that area. Danny, the drummer, his room had chairs hanging from the ceiling, tables hanging from the ceiling, it was like an upside-down room, he could have charged admittance just to check out all the punk rock and strange things he had in his room where they practiced at for a while at the beginning. After Johnny the singer left the band, they had two other singers. Kenny Timmering who was the singer with them when they played the Broadway Theater in Santa Ana Ca. where we ended up rioting and tearing the place apart. And also Ron McCamey. Kenny was part of the Dirt Hill Gang and I can remember many times in high school where Willie's grandmother would drive us to the beach to go surfing, when we were all still just kids. To Newport, Huntington, Trestles. His grandmother was another very cool lady. When they would play "The Nest" we would always get a bunch of bottles of Boone's Farm and park at the back near the backstage door and party before they went on. There is a lot more to the story of Lost Cause, not enough room in this comment to share. I'm just glad to call them my friends and to have grown up in Orange County California during the beginning of punk rock in Orange County California. This is just a basic introduction into the city of Orange punk rock, not enough space to cover Fullerton and the other Orange County bands, that we hung out with. My deepest prayers go out to all the mothers and grandmothers and band members, like Chuck B. of the Discords and all the others that may have passed. May they rest in peace. To all of you that are still alive, we had a hell of a time!

  Good to finally get some background on this band. I grew up in Texas, where I was involved in the Houston punk scene in the early 80’s. I never got to see Lost Cause, and I’m pretty sure they never played in Houston, but I was introduced to them through the “American Youth Report” comp, which featured “Born Dead” from this EP. Right around the same time, I got a copy of the “Forgotten Corners” EP. I still have it actually. Great stuff. Anyway, cheers and thanks for shedding some light on the history of this band.

  whos got the cobwebs ep? i know i have a copy but someone needs to slap that album on here since i can't. you know you'd be doing the world a favor. and while we're at it, all the black triangles stuff, and i mean with the geza x i hate punks cover. my tape didnt have it and i remember talk to mike i believe. idk, he sent me his copy of the limited run cover for the ep since when i ordered mine, it goofed and i got the standard fuckin elaphantitis or someshit. i just remember the limited cover having a bunch of triangles, the standard havin the photo. and i have a 3rd one with no cover but i bt stamp on the inner sleeve. fuck, if any you dudes from bt or rs, whats up dudes. i drummed for convulse when you came to the bay and bass for virulence from modesto for sean that night with migraine and short circuit if i remember correctly. anyways, hope you dudes are doing well. ps rip stress domain

  Lol I USED to have THIS or Iron Prostate’s complete discography uploaded probably 10 years ago. Anyways George Tabb (the guitar player in Roach Motel, Iron Prostate, Furious George and former Ramones roadie, messaged me asking to take down the recording because they were planning on doing a reissue. Anyways I took it down, but I don’t think anything ended up being released. George Tabb also used to have Destroy TV in the New York market…
