I'm considering a general... would it climb up sand mountain with paddles? I wish they were turbo. I'm trying to decide on general vs razor but I need more storage. I'd like to get tracks for winter / ice fishing trips, mountain riding with the occasional dunes trip.
@SouthwestORVАй бұрын
Good question. We didn’t have paddles so I don’t know how it would have done with them. I didn’t even consider climbing either side of sand mountain with the stock tires since I didn’t think it would do it. Maybe it could do it with a tune and paddles. We had fun at the dunes but certainly not the best dunes machine.

Had a set on my brute, and will probably put another set on my rancher. Hard to find another tire with similar specs - fairly light, excellent tread depth, decent in mud and they have a nice rounded profile.

I feel sorry for others, us people trying that for the 1st time but forgetting out back lights, tail lights cross bars, braces - basically messing it all up and smashing stuff because we didn't think it through. Nice going load master.

I have 2024 honda rancher 4x4 SRA foot shift do you actually need tuner on the bike ? Or no tuner if it’s not gonna mess with engine running badly
@SouthwestORVАй бұрын
HMF’s website will tell you if you need a tuner for the bike. It said for mine that it did not need a tuner.

I had two of those 76's sold one to a friend and we did a lot of riding together. On that model the first year of that stylish exhaust system. However, that system must have had some problem as many seemed to rust right back there where yours has, I've seen over the years that the exhaust system has been replaced with not near as pretty system, like a super trap. They were excellent of road and attractive around town. I had a chrome luggage rack on both, so you could carry some stuff, you could pull em up to wheelie pretty easily. They were pretty safe as they sat a little higher. Point adjustment, plug, air filter, oil changes, chain adjustment were a bre eze. Later both of us sold them to buy the 82 silverwing, which were still in crates in 1988 and discounted to $1,800. They were great bikes too.

The wave as you're loading at skid steer is not good. It's very unsafe. You should haul it on a trailer behind it on an equipment trailer.

Take the front and middle section of the skid plates off and it's a breeze to access the filter, and you don't make a mess on the floor from oil dripping into the skid plate.

I have a Yamaha Bear tracker 250. Solid rear axle foot shift 5 speed I love that damn thing. I've ridden the grizzly 660 as I've ridden the Big Bear 400s Kodiak 450s and I have to say the smaller machine is where it's at I'm 6 ft 330 lb and not a single issue it will sling my ass around in a donut no problem it will go down the trails just fine. And it rides on the asphalt just perfectly fine it is a great nimble machine it tows the trash cans out to the yard no problem. I'm glad Honda at least still makes a smaller machine for those of us that want four wheels for the simple tasks. They're not the fastest. But they are a lot of fun
