Those penalty boxes were never big enough in the day. Also no glass in front of them was better.

That is soooo old school. That's the kind of stuff you saw in the 40s lmao. Guys would get in full 2 minute stick fights though. Barbarians

This was a legit rivalry, started after Habs beat Flyers in the 1976 cup final , great video , love French Canadian feed , go Habs! - had to say that

Totally. The 76 Canadiens came into the Spectrum and beat the Flyers. Heck of a series. They even took the cup on the Spectrum ice. So many great playoff series with them after the divisions were updated. Loved it.

Bobby Smith, wow. Beats Gretzky in OHL scoring race and takes zero crap. At least Nilan wasn't fighting a shirtless Brown, hah. They talked about it on Raw Knuckles podcast, quite a tale.

  • @ront769

He was much older than Gretzky. The Great One went on to play pro in the WHA at 17 years old. Smith couldn't touch Gretzky once they were in the NHL.

@@ront769 Yeah, it was a poke at people who said at the time that 99 would never last in the NHL "against full grown men." More than a few broadcasters and writers predicted Smith would be better because he was bigger.

Chelios terrible play on Flyer's 2nd goal. Loses puck then dogs it immediately after allowing Sutter to get in front of Heyward.

Thats when our Canadien and American boys didn't take crap. Now these Europeans like that Draisaitl and the othe swede or whatever he is are pushing guys, never should happen to our boys. If you are a scorer then score. And whats this clapping crap at the end of tbe game, thats European soccer crap. Lets get some tough north American boys back out there, then those "scorers" won't hit a player like Barkov and if they did they would pay a dear price. God Bless brothers and sisters!!
