It’s just Figma- but Framer works basically the same way 🙌🏽
I don't speak CSS.
But it's not really CSS. They are using tools like Figma/Canva to visualize the components. Old school devs would simply stare at the code

Hallo Rafael, danke für diese Einführung. Jetzt sieht es aber so aus, als ob die vielen schönen Components aus der Library gar nicht im SiteBuilder ansteuerbar sind. Ich habe mir nun extra die Lizenz dafür besorgt und jetzt geht das nicht… oder hänge ich irgendwo? Zum Beispiel die Components zu "Long Form Content". Hast du eine Idee?
how long did it take you to get comfortable with webflow and how long did it take you to get your first payed client?
I started to learn Webflow on the side when I was still in design school. About 6 months to get comfortable with it + another 6 months to get my first client. Although if you really focus and commit to this path you can do it a LOT quicker than me.

Absolutely, age doesn’t really matter for becoming a successful webflow pro :)
5:53 - Hi Rafael, but I read on Webflow Expert requirements and it says that we need to have minimum 3 client-based projects tho? Do you think non client-based projects on our Portfolio won't be rejected?
Yes, if you eventually want to apply for the Expert program you need 3 client projects. But to start out and find your first clients personal projects work great!

No you can take as much time as you need for the exam. And it’s 25 questions if I recall correctly 👍🏽

Why did you exported it to Figma in the first place, at the end you didnt even use it, I mean, how does Figma work with webflow ?
Great question! The main idea here is that a lot of times you want to explore multiple design directions before actually building the site. Especially if you have feedback loops with your client, it’s way easier to adapt details in Figma. Once the design is finalized, you would move to the build phase and start in Webflow. There’s the Figma to Webflow plugin which makes this transition even easier. Hope this helps :)

Should a beginner becomer framer developer at the place of webflow developer?
Both tools have their advantages. Webflow is right now the better choice in my opinion since you can build more complex and functional sites.
Where to learn webflow properly
Webflow University is great (also free) for in depth tutorials. Flux Academy courses (paid) are also very valuable.

People keep saying, I am not worried about AI completely replacing me or my job because it still needs a human touch. I think that depends on your definition of soon in comparison to the rate AI is learning at, which is extremely fast. I think it will. I think we will need to adapt to a new way of designing digitally, meet new expectations for what is acceptable to charge for, and push our knowledge past the bulk of execution on design in general. My question is if AI can accomplish the bulk of execution on web design projects. How do new upcoming designers learn the foundational skills to warrant them the status of eventually becoming an expert?

Great explanation Rafael, I have a question though. If I want to become a specialist but I do not know which of the one thing I am good at or I want to work on. How do I become a specialist? Guess I have to be generalist first to see what I enjoy and am good at, don't you think?
Yes, totally. Back when I was in design school we had 20+ (!) different design subjects (e.g. poster design, logo design, web design). At the end of the program i rated each subject based on how much i liked it, how much demand there was for it and how much I could make. The top 3 of the list I focussed on the most from there on. One of them was web design - which then became my main focus :) Try out many things first >> then niche down and become a specialist

They have a free plan that has all the AI tools and everything you need for creating a sitemap and wireframe like in the video :) If you want to use the full library with Webflow, you will need to upgrade though. But worth it if you have to build lots of sites for clients.

Really good guide! But just a detail, for the Open Graph Image URL you don't need to click on the image and then copy, the simbol next to that arrow pointing up does that automatically :)

I’m coming to you, to tell that thanks to your advices and tutorials, I have more confident in my potential to make a website. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us. Also, I will soon probably have my first client in order to make his website. I have no problem to make the design and the website itself, but the client is asking for a food ordering possibility on his site. How could I do that ordering system in webflow please, it is very urgent ? Is there a plugin or something else to help to achieve that ? Thank you for your help in advance. Best regards

Food ordering with WF can surely be done but not sure if it’s the most optimal platform to build it - really depends on the functionality. Do you need user registration, payment process etc.?
