A sub-300 nose tackle. What a brilliant idea.

The reason his interception luck was so good was probably the same reason his reciever drop rate was so high, guys who can't catch cannot keep up with Levis' absolute bombs. Hopefully Ridely figured out his drops from last year since he's a good hands catcher.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it his power was a real strength loosing weight isn’t going to make it better even Steve Avila probably the best rookie guard from last season said his toughest opponent he faced in college was Mazi Smith if he gets back on track he will be a very good player

It’s super frustrating they told him to cut over 30 pounds he was told too by DQ but the weight staff advised not too. which is probably why he ended up with a shoulder injury mid season he immediately got surgery on after the season ends. Such a waste of year to develop and a huge mess up by the Dallas staff

Will Mazi Smith take a step up in year 2? Or is he already a bust?

Very good breakdown. It’s very promising that his biggest weakness is decision making as a rookie. That can be improved. Some of those throws were jaw dropping

Great video. Love the stats. The only quibble I have is "elite speed". I'm not saying he has elite speed, but if you're basing it off the combine then you're basing it off something that is for track guys. Just saying... to learn how to come off "the blocks", stay low, conserve motion, etc... that can be learned, and usually is by track guys, but good football players don't gaf about it. I don't ever see anyone running away from him.

He definitely doesn’t have elite speed.. watch his Bama tape
@AtoZSportsFilmRoomКүн бұрын
He got beat deep a couple times on his Bama tape and didn't test that well, I think it's fair to say he's not that fast by NFL standards. But he's fast *enough* & he makes up for it with technique and route recognition. There are lots of other rookie CBs that are way faster than him in a straight line, but get beat over the top a lot more often (DJ Turner/Jakorian Bennett/Emmanuel Forbes). It's because they're jumpy at the LOS, take false steps, get themselves out of position, and don't anticipate routes.

@@gavinpujado2579 at least w Newton (who was a great prospect), we have the foot injury excuse. Branch was just a total whiff by the league.
