    Do you add floral tape after you attach the stem to the flower:

    I normally do not add extra tape! But do buy the green paper wrapped wires link in the description. That helps with not having to add extra tape but you totally could if you want to!

    honestly crafters seem really bad with safety, don't know why but it just tends to not be talked about much. I remember that at some point people pointed out that two part resins can be a little nasty before cured (esp with it being a sensitiser) and i was just surprised how resin was everywhere but no one has seemingly known any of this, while it was talked about a lot in the scale modeling communities i am in

  • @TheHardwoodForest
    @TheHardwoodForest14 күн бұрын

    Couldn’t agree more! It’s so easy to overlook being safe with crafting as most look at it as a hobby and take little to no time to really figure out what they are doing which can lead to lots of accidents! I know I made some silly mistakes especially with this tool so hopefully people will learn from my mistakes! I constantly want to jump in fast learning something new so safety is easy to overlook!

    Where do I go to order the dies at? Is there a website for fabric only?

  • @TheHardwoodForest
    @TheHardwoodForestАй бұрын

    All the paper dies work on felt and fabric too! I get them on Amazon , spellbinders.com, sizzix.com eBay. Destasche pages on Facebook. Scrapbook.com. The steel ruled dies are getting harder to find unfortunately but you can still snag them on eBay and facebook.

    Thanks for this! Do you happen to know whether Velcro sticks better to acrylic felt or wool felt? I'm trying to make a "felt board" for my kids that they can stick laminated illustrations to (with Velcro attached to the back). I tried flannel but it didn't work--the Velcro doesn't stick to it at all (I tried both sides just to be sure, lol). Thanks again.

  • @TheHardwoodForest
    @TheHardwoodForest2 ай бұрын

    Hello! Have you tried just backing the laminated pieces with felt? As on the felt boards felt sticks to felt. Just curious if that would work! Or if they would be too heavy at that point? Unfortunately after that I haven’t tried to see if Velcro would latch well. But it’s worth a try. I would however try the wool blend or wool felt. While the acrylic version also have lots of fibers for the Velcro to stick to i would be worried once those fibers got pulled on a bit with Velcro that they wouldn’t go back in place.

    Hi, can you do this with acrylic felt, or does it have to be pure wool?

  • @TheHardwoodForest
    @TheHardwoodForest2 ай бұрын

    This needs to be either a wool blend felt or 100% wool. If you’re using 100% wool then you will need to heat longer for it to penetrate the fibers. But still works! The acrylic felt will just melt unfortunately.

    I am currently making myself a flower crown from wool for my Birthday Month! completely improvising, while cutting my wool - I had a lot of time for my mind to wander - I got a bit curious about how other people do their felt flower, so I found your video and I already cut my shape s before hand so - it was just out of curiosity. I discovered that the shapes that I made up can be shaped in so many different ways, and that was very exciting idea to play with! So thank you for that. 🌸🌼🌻✨🌈😊
