Louisiana Music Videos

Louisiana Music Videos

Louisiana Music presents classical music in new ways and from new perspectives by using the latest film technology. These classical music videos are a natural extension of the museum's high-profile concert program, and they lift the special interplay between Louisiana and world-class musicians so that it reaches beyond the museum's concert hall and is accessible to everyone.

For many years, Louisiana has served as a haven for international musicians who specialize in chamber music. It has therefore been possible to create a special relationship of trust and belonging that the museum's concert guests enjoy and that will now also be reflected to a great degree in Louisiana Music.

Stéphan Aubé, the director of the movies, aims to convey the music "from the other side" in order to lead us into a special space "that one cannot experience directly in a concert hall".

“For those with ears to see and those with eyes to hear” is the motto for these films, which come very close to the music!

The tempo and dynamics are superb and compliment each other beautifully. Articulation (especially the crunchy crotchets), chord voicings, accents, pedal, harmonic sensitivity… a musically convincing interpretation of a generally misunderstood piece of music. Improved on Sokolov’s version but the steady pulse is everything! Prokofiev himself would have been impressed.

Beautiful music but more information should be provided. When was this filmed? Also, the Louisiana Museum is in Denmark (?). Camera work a little too cute but the interaction between Braunstein and Zhao is definitively intriguing.
