    So I heard you say in this episode that the best result will be maybe a full cup size at best. At my heaviest, I was 265 pounds with a small C/full B cup size and now I’m 140 pounds with a decent B cup. While I don’t mind the current size too much or the minimal droopiness I have while standing up straight, when I lean forward I get the ball in a sock situation. I’m saving up money for a full extended tummy tuck after just having my arms done this August. Would adding a lift and a fat transfer to my breasts be a good option for me if I just want to maintain a full B or C cup? My fear would be getting a lift and ending up with an A cup. Thanks for your time and I love the show!

    Hi Amy and Dr. Martin. Thanks for answering our questions. The SIBO comment was from me. To complete my question, I should add that I would like to know more about SIBO and histamine intolerance, please. About 20 years ago a dermatologist prescribed me with a very long period (30 days or so) of Doxycycline for my acne. Shortly afterwards I got these horrible itchy hives all over my body which would come and go. I didn’t know the connection at the time. After seeing several allergy doctors and many different allergy tests, I was diagnosed with chorionic idiopathic urticaria. I have been taking antihistamines daily for nearly 20 years now. In the meantime, I always had GI problems (mostly bloating). To the point where I had to get a secondary TT because of how large my abdomen looked even after a TT. Now I’m finally making the connection and have scheduled an appointment to see a GI specialist. I would love to know more about this condition (SIBO and histamine intolerance) from a nutritional therapist point of view. Thank you!

    I would discuss your concerns with your internist and surgeon. It's very possible your BMI is artificially elevated due to your large breasts. If you have been medically cleared for surgery, you should be good to go!

    Hi Amy and Dr. Martin! I am the caller from Nashville :-) My name is Kenda. I had RNY surgery about two years ago and am maintaining a 135 lb weight loss. The surgery that I am planning next is a bra line back lift. I am almost six mos post-op from the extended tummy tuck and brachioplasty, and am scheduled for the back lift in three mos. I had a wonderful plastic surgeon and am thrilled with my results- especially the arms. Wearing short sleeves for the first time in my life. I am a NP and try to educate my patients about the importance of making sure that they go to a board certified plastic surgeon for procedures. Thanks so much for answering my questions!

    Hi there. Thank you so very much for these videos. I have a question for your next Q&A (please & thank you). I watch many surgeons on social media. I am searching for ways to improve my aging face after a very significant weight loss. I was looking into sculptra but find that many of the doctors I watch give very different takes on whether one can have sculptra and still have a facelift later in life. It seems very controversial and I just want an unbiased answer. If I was to use an ultra on my temples and in front of the ears (cheek area) - would that make a face lift hard for me in the future? Thank you endlessly!

    Thank you for watching! Most surgeons will require that you have a BMI under 30 to proceed with surgery. There may be some wiggle room there based on the size of your breasts as very large breasts may skew the BMI scale.

  • @JasonMartinMD
    @JasonMartinMDАй бұрын

    Hi Jeni, yes! 100% an overnight stay is a requirement for us. You will have drains and will need quite a lot of help moving around and getting up and down for the first few days. Spending the first night in the hospital helps ease the transition to home, also makes sure your pain is well managed, and your drains are functioning, etc.

    Can you still do chin ups with UBM ?

  • @JasonMartinMD
    @JasonMartinMDАй бұрын

    Thanks for watching! Yes, after you are cleared for direct chest work (likely 6-12 weeks postop) you can resume pullups. However, you will definitely feel your implants moving with chinup/pullup movements and I would not do them until you can do them with zero pain in your chest.

    21:50 what if the patient is super skinny (naturally) and has little to no body fat the implant is UBM Many said it wouldn’t be wise to exchange

  • @JasonMartinMD
    @JasonMartinMDАй бұрын

    Thanks for watching! Having low body fat is not a contraindication for a breast implant exchange. However, for women with minimal native breast tissue and/or low body fat, the implant may have some 'show' through the skin. Again, this is not a contraindication for breast augmentation, just something to be aware of prior to surgery.

  • @N0N4M30
    @N0N4M30Ай бұрын

    10:42 I had a hematoma one week post one unilateral and had to be operated right away to remove all the excess blood and put in a new implant to reduce the risk of cc but unfortunately that side never feels the same nor sits as well as the other It’s been 10 years now I wish I could exchange it but I fear it’ll be the same or worse also no one wants to do it only on one side but I don’t want my good side to be touched

  • @JasonMartinMD
    @JasonMartinMDАй бұрын

    Thanks for watching! I completely understand having reservations about additional surgery. Hematomas are very rare and having one in the past does not increase or decrease your risk of a future hematoma. Remember that your breasts (and implants) are sisters, not twins, and may never feel and look identical, regardless of additional surgery. 10 years is a long time to be unhappy with something and it would be worth your while to at least have a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to see what options are available.

    Enjoy the educational videos so much. Thank you for these. I am planning for an abdominoplasty after 1 child 21 years ago and definitely have rectus diastasis. I have not sought treatment for this as far as physical therapy or else. It sounds like you both feel there is nothing that can really be done in the way of strengthening to get this to narrow and that surgery is the only way to definitively take care of it. I do follow a fitness and nutrition coach that offers a video of how to close the gap with pelvic floor and ab muscle strengthening (pelvic tilt, pelvic tilt with marching, bridge with mini-band around thigh, quadruped on hands & knees with pelvic tilt and side plank - all are performed on the floor.). I know Amy said sit-ups aren’t good with rectus diastasis so I’m staying away from those. I did see you last March for a consult and have a history of a laparotomy 28 years ago. Long story short, I will have to wait to have this procedure for a while due to just starting a new job, so, is it worth trying these exercises in the meantime or will I do more damage than it’s worth?

  • @JasonMartinMD
    @JasonMartinMD2 ай бұрын

    Hi Stephanie! Amy here :) Yes, I do think there is a benefit to be had by integrating pelvic floor and core exercises into your routine. It won't repair your diastasis but is great for overall core strength and stability.
