Thanks for watching!
Many years ago, a friend and I were fishing the Mississippi near Cohasset, MN., and had our canoe tied off for lunch. Like you, I had my bait dangling just in the water as I navigated opening a soda when the water was exploded by an 8-pound pike that had decided to test my 19-year-old heart. Great video with lots of action, and I'm sure the lunker is just around the next bend.
That's exciting! Are you from MN? I appreciate you watching Brad!
@@ChasingtheMoby Okie, born and bred, but I lived there for a little over a year.

That's how I roll is the old school gear, still use all my grandpa's stuff from the 50's to the 70's. There's some magic in that old gear in my experience, I catch more and bigger fish on it.
Is that creek in southern Ok?
Thanks for watching. It's not
Dufus!
Thank you for watching!
Why are you sitting so far from your rods
It's been 3 years since. Probably because of shade.
Oklahoma, red, sabine, arkansas, which river? Bayou Fourche Maline had some good cats back in the day.

@@ChasingtheMoby although I worked in Oklahoma and had to swim several rivers there, I've never heard of that one. 🙄

Hey bud, fellow Okie here. I’m getting onto kayak fishing and would love to know your setup. If you don’t mind what brand and style of kayak are you running? Do you have a depth finder and sonar?
Thanks for watching! Feelfree moken 12.5 v2. Garmin striker 4cv

Filter looks neat gonna try that, I can remember drinking straight out of my great grandfather's pond
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it! It's called a Sawyer Squeeze filter. Very good. You're brave for drinking straight pond water!
That was a long time ago wouldn't do it now
Awesome trip so far and videos bro.. maybe I can join ya some time. 👍 just holler
Thanks for watching Gene!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. Got my wheels turning hoping to take a trip like this myself.
Thank you for watching !
One day my buddy is going to reel in biggg moby and won’t know what to do anymore 😂 scratch that he’s going to go after Moby 2 👍🫡 for that river I consider 45-50 pounder Moby .
Heck ya! Thanks for watching!
Nothing like getting beat up by your dinner 😂
Bro I’m wondering if your rivers ever clear up ? Are they always that Red mud color or do they clear up a good bit when it’s low ? Wild how it’s straight mud bank and bottom. Rivers in my area are all rock. Gravel to medium to big boulders . Interesting how different that area is to the rivers back east in Appalachian Mountains. Your soil must go down and down definitely not hard to build a basement in that area 😂
Thanks for watching! It'll never run clear, but when it's low sediment will drop some but you won't be able to see more than a few inches underwater.
Awsome story telling love it
Thank you for watching T-Med!
I’m enjoying this series. How many miles total was this float? and were there any major roads along the river or spots to get off the river and to safety if you needed to?
Thanks for watching! I don't remember. I had a friend who let me keep my car at his house so when I finished he came and picked me up. I didn't have a particular destination I had to take out at
@@ChasingtheMoby cool stuff 👍🏼
I like how you show an tell all. Small fish to the hogs. The good bad an the ugly parts of fishing. Nice. Way better than just clips of hogs.
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching! I love catching big fish and smaller ones too. I love the adventure of it regardless of result

I don’t even use a tent Kayak camping anymore. I now use a cot that breaks down. I love it.
Sweet!! Thanks for watching! I mainly do it for bugs. Other times of year I sleep in a tarp
Why do I always here a generator in the background
Thanka for watching! That'd be a battery powered aerator- for the live baits
I'm in the Philippines again, and I just caught my first Pacific fish ... a puffer, which I promptly threw back. I hated the loss of the net. Did you try to cast for it? I love this camping series and always look forward to watching it with my breakfast on the ocean.
Cool man! Yes I tried and tried to cast for it. The current must have swept it away. How is the Phillipines? Im jealous! I appreciate you watching Brad
@@ChasingtheMoby The culture here is a welcome break. Poverty is at almost every turn, but most of the people are amazing. How they go about their daily lives without the need to feel insulted at every turn is refreshing. I would need at least a month of practice to drive here, and even then, a sign on my car proclaiming myself a tourist and to please have patience with me ... and in my 53 years I've driven in LA, Houston, and Boston. The fishing from shore is not great as fishing is a way to feed the family here. Much of the shore fisheries are depleted. What is caught from the beach here, looks like it belongs in an aquarium in the US. But, heck, it's fishing, right? 😉🙂
@@bradjohnson482 that sounds so cool- glad you're getting that experience! I am jealous
Good stuff Austin.
