  I was in QC at Freightliner for 25 years and 10 months. I feel your pain, I really do. Every day, it was a battle against management to do the right thing. All they cared about was numbers of units out the door. I had one catch fire on me while I was test driving it. On another occasion, they called me over to drive a truck and test noise emissions. I opened the cab door, and all the upholstery had been stripped out. Wiring harnesses were hanging everywhere, and they had an upside down bucket for me to sit on while driving it. I didn't respond well. On several other occasions, the steering linkage castle nuts weren't torqued properly...but the cotter pins were installed. When I put the torque wrench on them, I was nearly thrown to the floor. I stopped the line. This was a major safety issue. Management came boiling out of the offices and demanded to know why I'd stopped the line....that every minute of down time cost the company $40k. I asked them how much it would cost if the draglink came off the steering gearbox and the driver lost control.
