    Super instructive. I would've made the exact same mistake after Rc1 Rd3; giving check on c8 to play Rc7+ and win the A pawn - it never even crossed my mind to play the immediate Rc7 in order to keep the Black King trapped, but of course as soon as it's pointed out I realise that we still keep our own A pawn and now their King is far less active. I will need to remember that one for the future!

    "Scary but not that good" is how I summarize moves that I know in theory has a tactical refuatation, say a bishop sacrifice, but I am not sure if I can come up with the right continuation My example would be anti berlin for black with c3 (This is from memory, no chess board used even) e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bb5 Nf6 d6 Bc5 c3 d5 exd5 Qxd5 Bc4 Qd6 b4 Bb6 a4 0-0. Now a5 trapping the bishop looks scary but not that good as a5 is met by Bxf2 Kxf2 and e5. Scary? Why? Because the position is unclear (-0.8) but we are down a piece for a pawn. What is scary is not finding the refutation to some moves of the opponent (But even if it is scary I go for what I know/think is objecively best)

    Hi. Can someone please explain why that black knight coming to C4 at the end of the video has such a devastating impact? Lets ignore the fact that we have NC6 for this purpose. Is the threat of capturing the bishop on e3 that big? I don’t quite understand as I am lower rated. I would be ok with …Nxe3 fxe3 as I see that my knight is blocking his dark bishop and if …e5 then he blocks his bishop forever. Also fxe3 opens up my rook. I’m sure I am missing something potentially catastrophic so if someone can explain would be much appreciated.

  • @ChessCoachAndras
    @ChessCoachAndras4 күн бұрын

    Allowing the trade on e3 wrecks white’s pawn structure , which is now also split into 3 islands. The f file is something you can’t exploit at all , and lastly we have knight versus bishop in an open position with pawns on both wings. Basically all changes favour black. Hope it makes sense .

  • @fitmtla144
    @fitmtla1443 күн бұрын

    @@ChessCoachAndras It totally makes sense, thank you! I guess this is the difference in higher rated players: being able to properly evaluate positions like this where a lower rated player attributes significant value to certain aspects (eg here opening up the f file for the rook, or capturing towards the center) when actually that has little to no value and/or missing out on other aspects that weight heavily towards not going for that particular line

    As a Grünfeld player I felt that the Nd4 move was a bit wrong on account of the fact that when the trade cxd4 occurs it starts to resemble a Semi-Tarrasch, meaning that every equal piece trade is favorable to black. I did find Qb5 very interesting, I suppose it also has the added benefit of preventing Nc4 for the time being. Great video as always!

    You only wanna talk about books that r for 2000 elo or higher mostly why go find books for 900 elo players to help them. You completely ignore players still learning now and they can't understand something so high level you're not even a super GM and you act like you are what a hell of a ego you have, learn to be humble for once

It is not possible to make videos that are suitable for all levels, and most of my viewers are 1500 and up cohort. That said I am intending to make content for lower levels too.3. What exactly are you talking about with my ego? I am so so confused. Four, you are welcome for the free content!
