  I am a second gen Nigerian American from Minnesota. When I was around 8years old I had a bestfriend named Jamie who is/was African American and when I hung out with her and her family often … & we’d always be at her moms very black Pentecostal church lol and I loved going with them because the music there was amazing. I remember going to choir practice with Jamie and we were learning this song with the choir. Ever since i was 8 years old (I’m 28) I’ve been singing/humming this chorus and melody to myself and it soothes me.. wishing I knew the title & not knowing who sings this song.. and I’ve been googling the lyrics (that I can remember) every now and then for years but could never find it. It would be that today of all days- after finishing a 25 day fast that really helped me find my way back to my first love (God) that I would just try my hand at googling the lyrics again and I find this video which is the song and melody! Wow. Such a beautiful full circle moment for me rn🤍 thanks for posting this 4 years ago 💌
