My goal is to become a better mountain biker and to help you do the same!
Michiana is located at the border of Michigan and Indiana and I'm Tyler, the reckless madman that lives there.
Before I go to a trail for the first time, I always like to get as much information about it. The Michiana Madman channel is here to help answer any questions a beginner mountain biker may have when they first start mountain biking.
The focus of the channel is to showcase the MTB trails in the Midwest region but also other parts of the country as well.
How to and DIY tutorials are sometimes posted as well as Product Reviews.
If this channel sounds like it may be for you, please consider subscribing!

I’m from berrian springs
Great video! You need to come back as they have opened a full new section to the west which takes you by the lake and has many more features. If there are novice riders reading this, come ride this trail as it is super friendly to new riders with minimal climbs, all features have ride-arounds, and it's just a fun, fast flowy loop.
That’s right next to me
I loved this trail- Just hit it up while on a trip - I'm a slower rider and it was fast and fun-
What if you don't have a heat gun to remove it?
Just rode here for the first time the week of the 4th of July 2024 & holey crap what an AWESOME park. The trails are absolutely fantastic. Even the green & blue trails. Hobbs Hallow is an absolute blast...will DEF be back
I saw them at REI, and knew I needed a pair. I got the Freerider in Chacoa / oat / carbon. I can hardly wait to take them for a ride.
Could one bmx this?
Thanks! So hard to find specific info on my old fork, I couldn't even tell where the schrader valve was located. Judging by this video it's probably underneath the cover on top of the fork, not the hex screw on the bottom which looks too small to hide a valve anyway. I'm just gonna gestimate the air pressure tho, 65 psi seems to be for my weight.
Local here, tiger trail goes behind the tiger exhibit in the zoo. If you get there in the afternoon around 7pm or so sometimes you can hear the tigers howling. Hence the name. Not sure about the other names tho!
You ever ride trails at night? That would be kool for late night Halloween ride. Potatoe Creepy Ride 2024. Lol
I have an Osprey hydraulics lt with the slider like yours. How can I safely remover the bite mouthpiece to cut the tubing to size? (And to clean) It looks like it just kinda screws into tube but I can't get it off, feel like I'm going to break it,, HELP!!! 😊 Thank you in advance :)))
Great video. Just did the trail yesterday. You go faster than I like. Maybe I try to post a video of me doing the trail.
Sometimes the planets align and you live right up the road... this happens to be my absolute favorite MTB Trail!!! 🚵♂♥👍
Thanks 🙏❤️
This looks incredible. I'm not getting to ride much right now because I'm always taking my toddler to ride. This we are going to bring him here (2 years 8 months) he will have a blast
It is a great trail!
@@MichianaMadman looks like it! Maybe the little one can hit his first jump here! Then I'll have the video for Instagram lol
Thanks for the videos - If you ever come back to the Cleveland area in the outdoor months, I'd be happy to show you around to all the trails.
Thanks Vince, i'm head to that area next month, might check it out
Not sure who Vince is but have a great time 😂
thanks Vince!
Yes they will. Broke my swing arm on my Epic Evo. On June 6th took my bike to the bike store where I bought it. That was June 7th. Got my new swing arm and bike back June 19th. Yes specialized does honor their warranty. Definitely will buy a Specilizrd bike again. Great service.
I’m glad you also had a great experience!
my favorite trail, I live in Berrien CO and make the 1 hr drive here several times a year
Props for doing that drop on a hardtail.
🙌
This trail has become an Alternating Direction trail. Clockwise on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Counterclockwise on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Thanks that is great to know!
I use 2 or 3 denture tablets, 126 for $6 😊
You could have hit up the local bike shop Buckskins and grabbed a new saddle
I opted for a beer at Creatures of Habit instead lol
I used to do this with my Trek7000 in my '07 Nissan Xterra and all I had to do was quick-release my front wheel and I was good. I'm trying to find a way to do the same in my Rivian R1S but the roof is too shallow to leave my saddle on. Just keep in mind that every vehicle is slightly different and this solution may require tweaks depending on what you drive.
My chain started jumping into my dorky disk, so I changed the indexing which fixed the problem. Then it started doing it again! So with some inspection I found that I had some impact marks on my derailleur, which probably bent my hanger just a hair. Turns out, I often bang the derailleur while walking my bike through my front gate. Since I live in the ass end of Egypt; getting an alignment tool is just impossible and shipping in a new hanger, costs as much as the tool! So for me; this is probably my absolute best option. Thanks kindly for sharing this video :)
This was very helpful.
Good job Timmy
I really want to get a fuse I started out with a Walmart ozark trail thinking I could upgrade it fully well come to find out there is no info about what the specs are or what parts they used so hard to know what to buy that will fit that you can upgrade may lose a lot of money but thinking of just starting over with a fuse
The fuse is a good bike. I haven’t personally checked out the Ozark bike but heard it was an affordable option for beginners.
@@MichianaMadman yes it’s a decently good bike if you just want to ride if you wanted anything more than that I’d suggest getting a better bike looks like my bike just shipped today
Great experience! Would like to ask, how comfortable are these bikes on the asphalt roads? My 6 years old son likes off-road riding in the forest but also rides on bicycle paths and even on the asphalt pump track. I’m worrying that it won’t fit use cases.
My kids actually use these bikes to ride around town more than they do on the trails.
I am a man but I got the women’s size because the fit great and they looked the same but the did not cost as much
Those Trails look so lame.
They definitely aren’t a destination location but any trail is better than no trail.
Why don’t they make it one way that sounds so lame.
Good video fixed my mistake of screwing silver first and making my firks loose all the air😂
Shoulda went for it haha 😂
Way too slow, no pump.
Hi i want to pump my fork but i can't
What seems to be the issue?
I came here disappointed seeing I had to actually work to clean this 🤦🏾♂️🤣. But you made it enjoyable without making me feel like a dirt bag. Thank you!
Is the trail your riding the beginner trail or more experienced trail
More of an intermediate trail.
Thank you ! Quick and simple!!
I know you're a great dad but you shouldn't buy a very expensive bike just for your kids
The money has been well worth it! Both of my girls are still using the bikes, though they are outgrowing the frames. My oldest will need a new bike but then my younger kids can move up into these bikes.
Yoooo! Dino series is hitting up Winona Lake the 18th of May. Let’s get some shred on! #bodybychief
I want to know, how to open the Hydration Bladder, and you skip it. Why would you do that?
sorry it was easy, but still i think should show.
My bad. It definitely is tricky to break the seal the first time using a new bladder.
is the wood attached to the car in any way?
No, the weight of the bikes keeps the board from moving.
Glad to see you hitting the trails, the weather is finally starting the break. Looking forward to hitting up some Michiana trails in the next month or so if the weather holds
Have fun!
I have a 2021 base model 27.5+. Still love it. After riding a custom scratch built ground up premium everything kona honzo tho i would like to change at least my rear freehub also. Not that the stock one is bad. But damn those premium ones are sick.
love making it glad you enjoy it
Thanks! The area is coming along nicely!
Good to see another video from ya
Thanks! It always feels good to be riding.
@@MichianaMadman unfortunately I haven't had time, my kid decided to run track this year
This skills area is an awesome addition to Rum!
I’m looking forward to the rock garden that is going to be added.
