Another thing I discovered is that homes near Valencia etc are near the Chiquita Landfill. This is a huge health concern and I would avoid the area. Personally I would also avoid homes near the golf courses due to pesticides... The biggest con of SC is the weather though.
How do you deal with the extreme heat in SC? I think heat is a major concern for people who may be interested in moving there, me included. It's the one thing that makes SC less attractive.

I'm from Newhall, I moved to Texas 24 years ago, and still miss it. I have been back only once and I know that things have changed significantly with laws, population, economy, etc. But damn, if I won the lottery I'd be back there.

@@theveteranagent Man, that really bums me out. I used to live right across the street from Peachland Elementary School. So many good childhood memories there. I am 36 now, but I wouldn't trade growing up there for anything, at that time.

@@techconix Yup, our home was right across the street behind the big field. It was sold for (I think) 300k, but when I last looked at the est. value it's around 1.5mil. Hahaha. It just sucks because that place has a special place in my heart from growing up there. Oh well. :(

I’m 19 and I’ve been living here for about 13 years, it’s pretty boring city, quiet people quiet neighborhoods. So if you like a quiet lifestyle this is the perfect place, great golf courses and amazing dog parks
You are 100% correct!
Left SC in 2021 to go to the East Coast and miss it a lot. Good schools and quiet - for the most part. Sold the home and wish I didn’t! When we lived there is when the school shooting happened at Saugus HS. We were shocked. Other than that, it was a great place. I was always considered about the prison that was close by.

Sorry I missed this! We have some coyotes, the very rare mountain lion and bear but again, very rare. other than that, its a desert, not much lives out here.

So something i'm not seeing being talked about much in similar videos to this regarding the Santa Clarita area. Is the viability of the METROLINK system for commuting to work. Is this not a realistic option? Despite the improvements and ground work being made to better time frames to a train every hour. Are people commuting from these areas still choosing to drive over public transit?
Yes people choose to drive over public transportation mainly because of the homelessness issues. Although not big in Santa Clarita, the stigma sticks.
