Welcome to Di's Studio Designs' KZread channel! This is Di here (short for Diane) and I am a dabbler in art, pyrography, faux floral design, home decor, DIY, gardening, writing, and photography...Oh, and yoga to keep me sane! This channel is my way of sharing with you my love of Celtic art, fairy houses and gardens, and seasonal floral decor. You'll get a mixture of videos that include pyrography projects, short tutorials, DIY projects, home decor tips, behind the scenes glimpses, floral design, gardening, houseplant care, and nature walks. My two cats may make an appearance every so often as well. I call them my "work buddies", but honestly I do all the work!

    I buy faux florals from places like Factory Direct Craft, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels and use them in my handcrafted floral designs and candle holders.

    I have tried this all day but I seem to have missed how to connect over the brakes. Still missing something. 🤔

    When the thread goes over (or under) the break line it will hit the edge of the grid. You then turn and go to the diagonal (45 degree angle) for your new direction. Round out the corner to create a smooth thread. Hope that helps!

    In this tutorial, my grid is 2 down and 9 across. But I encourage you to experiment just to see what works...and what does not!

    This version is is great up to drawing the circles and the division of sections....ie the grid in circular form. However to draw the knot.....this is not what I would use. Perhaps try the Nichols way on this grid.

    This is gorgeous, the stippling really looks wonderful on wood and really looks like an inked drawing. I love how fine your linework is and the way the design weaves in a really controlled & fluid way!

    very lost with the circles and how to match them. wasn't sure how to decided where what circles had lines to where and plus my circles didn't always seem in line. It looks easy here . I tried to slow it down .Just wondering how to learn where those lines from the circles go.

    I usually use the burner to create different shades and textures. I've been toying with the idea of using colored pencils on future art pieces. I've seen other artists do some fantastic stuff mixing color with their wood-burned art!

    On a previous 3 band circle you showed how to draw I said with your good guidance I was going to give it a go and carve the pattern into a clay bowl I had thrown, I have actually thrown two bowls so this is going on the other bowl once I've drawn this design. Thankyou, your practice and skill in explaining how to has made my decisions on how to decorate. Thankyou. Wish me luck x😊

    I did a pattern similar to this on a clay bowl I threw in pottery class, the drawing system I used was way too complicated than this, this has given me the faith to do it again. I love the design, I've already thrown the bowl so with this I am going to draw the pattern. Thankyou 😊

    I have been trying to master a few of these and this one, whilst I could do it, it was hard to keep even and neat using the method I first saw. But this method enabled me to get it first go and pretty neat too. I won’t go back to the other way now. Thank you.

    I apologize for that! Someone brought to my attention that my light ring is creating a glare, so I will experiment with different light settings to try to fix that issue. I'm still working out the best way to bring you the best videos possible so things will improve as we go!

    How would you do it in a continuous frame around the page? I always die in the corners.

    Thank you for bringing up that point Jennifer! Corners can be really tricky, but they are also an opportunity to do some really creative things. At the moment I'm working on a new video tutorial for a circular border, but I have plans to create a few videos on corner knots (probably in December) so stay tuned!
