AWESOME job!!! Wow!!!
Thanks, Don!
i think you dont understand how this works :D
It's just prep and paint. Pretty simple, really.
How much would you charge to program a learner key for a 2011 gtx 260 limited?
Sorry, we’re not a dealer so we only have a few licenses for ourselves.

I do not recommend installing this type of air breathing catch can. The proper catch can should be a non air breathing or closed catch can and should go back to the fitting you capped off.
Why do you recommend against the air venting catch can?
Any tricks to get the threaded seal retainer out. I've soaked it with penetrating oil, heat, used a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter on the 4 pin tool with a pry bar, also with an impact gun and it's not budging. This is the first time the SC has been apart and has 105 hrs. The intercooler was leaking so the SC has a little corrosion inside but i caught it early and can't see it making the retainer so hard to remove. I've onlu used a heat gun but it was hot enough for the o rings to start smoking. Maybe more heat? I'm worried i'll snap the housing mounting tabs connected to the maintenance fixture off i'm cranking on it so hard.
I assume you’re referring to the “retaining disc”? Are you using the special tool with pins? You can also try putting it in the freezer (at least -20 degrees C) and then trying while it’s still frozen. If it doesn’t work, freeze it again and apply heat to the housing area around the disc for a minute or so (so the disc is cold and the housing is warm). Good luck!
Thank you so much!for this amazing video :D
You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
how to set the clock?
The procedure is a bit tricky. I suggest you download the Owner’s Manual for your machine. They are available for free on Honda’s website.
which depth finder was this ?
It was the OEM model for our machine (part number 278002954).
I have a 2020 GTX 300 Limited with the ST-3 hull (acrylic}. I'm finding no real definitive answers about how to repair or successfully work with this material. Someone rammed the nose into a dock. Seadoo doesn't even offer a replacement hull. Some patch using regular fiberglass, but many say it won't hold. Have you had any experience with it?
Sorry, we don’t have experience with major repairs like that. We’ve done some fiberglass with Gelcote repair, but nothing with Acrylic. Try contacting a boat repair shop (if you have one near you). They’re usually pretty experienced with jet skis (as people crash them a lot). Good luck.
Not only are your videos super helpful, but you have been responding to almost every comment for the last 6 years. That speaks volumes of your character and commitment to the ski community, Unlike most of the other fruit loops who make vid and move on. I believe I'll subscribe. 👍
Thanks for the kind words, Kevin!
Very professional. Thanks for sharing
So it was a gasket on the fuel pump or the filter?
If I recall correctly, it was on the fuel pump.
Can vinegar be used on new 2022 Yamaha fx SVHO jertskis?
We’re not Yamaha folk, so we all we can say is that it works great on Gelcote. We don’t recommend it on Acrylic or plastics.
No issue with any of this, but a bit of a stretch to call it 'improvements' I think.
Fair enough.
Hi, I have an 2002 gtx 4-tec SeaDoo bombardier and I put the key in and I get a long beep and the dash comes on but won’t start. Then I unplug then put it back in and it pops a fuse do you think my dess post is bad?
I haven’t heard of that symptom before. Usually a bad DESS key just fails to communicate with the onboard computer and isn’t shorted. Do you know if it’s thrown any codes?
Well done! I'm looking to buy a 2002 GTI. Looks to be in fantastic shape. Anything glaring about this model?
Thanks for the kind words. 2002 is quite an old machine. It may be in great shape, but I wouldn’t trust it. There is a lot that can go wrong with those older boats, especially electrical wiring that can cause endless frustration. I’d pay a bit more $$ and get something newer; preferably a machine that’s been taken care of and is 15 years old (or newer). We tend to stay away from anything more than 10 years old. It can be very dangerous to get stranded in the middle of a lake (or ocean), especially when the wind picks up. Good luck!
Pretty sure I sucked up some stuff today on my gtr 215. Was running very well hitting top speeds with ease, the first thing I noticed that was odd was the ski doing low speed while I did not have much throttle in. I hit the throttle again and it reset, then it started shuddering a lot, gave it a good shake but there was still something stuck in the impeller, major vibration. Had to take it into the shop regardless for a soft supercharger rebuild before going away. Hopefully everything works.
Hopefully there was no damage and the dealer bill is minimal. Good luck.
I have a 2024 900 RP, I can only see 2 screws to remove the front beak, anyone show mw exactly where the 4 to remove the beak are exactly?
Have a 2004 seadoo GTX supercharged. Had a new battery last year, ran great. Put the battery back in this year, ran perfect first use. Went to ride again a few days later and battery was dead. Put a new battery in and it keeps beeping like I have the key on the dess but I do not. Seems to be a short somewhere. Any ideas?
Have you checked to see if it’s charging while running? That could be an issue. Shorts aren’t too common with those machines; the most common electrical issue (apart from failing harnesses) is a bad ground. Make sure your grounding is all good, especially the 3 connections on the engine block at the front. Good luck.
So we haven’t started our skis in a couple of years. Garage kept. What do I do and what do you recommend. Thanks.
I’d check the jet pump first for any water intrusion. If so, repair any damaged components. I’d also spray some fogging oil in the cylinders, to minimize the damage caused by the first few piston strokes. Make sure the battery is fully charged, and capable of holding a charge. If it’s >4 years old, I’d replace it. I’d replace the engine oil and filter and spark plugs. You may also want to replace the gasoline, especially if it has an odd smell. Check for any corroded parts and replace as necessary, especially hose clamps. Those are the main things. Good luck!
@@3ftDeepChannel I really appreciate the reply. Will do all as instructed. New battery and gas for sure plus oil, filter and plugs. Thanks again. COVID and then we lost some family members we went to the lake with. Just getting that old lake feeling again.
Sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully more time on your ski will bring back lots of fond memories.
@@3ftDeepChannel I appreciate the kind words. Tough times. Yes, we believe getting back on the water will do us good. I really appreciate your insight. This is the only place I come for jet ski instructions. Have a good evening.
Turn off the damn music it's irritating
There’s a volume button on your computer/tablet/smartphone you can use.
This is somthing i just experienced. My absorbor cracked at the where the swivle bolts hold in the seat s shock support, not sure of the name of it. Any how i prefer the nut and bolt instead of the rivets. And lowering of the bracket is key. My glove box is always getting stuck.
Thanks for your comment, Nick.

how do you know when the steering is straight? Is it like a half turn, full turn?
Good question. You do a little little bit at a time and then see how it performs on the water.
Can we use any type of coolants?
No. It has to conform exactly to the manufacturer’s specification.
Worthless video. Never once talked about dewinterizing ski. Thanks for wasting my time
What were you expecting to see?
@@3ftDeepChannel how to dewinterize the jetski.
Thank you for the video, i have only a question about the expansion tank, when do you drain the coolant fluid also the expansion thank became empty or i need to do something, thank you so much
If you have the same model and year, follow the same procedure as I show as this is following the instructions in the service manual (i.e. without draining the expansion tank separately). Good luck.
I have a 2023 Yamaha FX HO Cruiser… can I do something to that to make it faster at all?
Our knowledge is primarily around Sea-Doos. Try out one of the Yamaha forums to see if they can answer your question. Good luck.
Hey! Amazing Videos. I have a question: A friend of mine has a 2016 GTX 300 Limited (Gen 2 IBR I think?!). He wanted to clean the rear pump assembly and lowered the IBR using Override while on the trailer. He forgot to take of the license-plate bar, so when lowering, without noticing, the IBR was pushing down on that solid metal bar for around 5 seconds. After realizing, he checked for damage (nothing visible) and functionality (movement in IBR-Override seems fine/unchanged). Best take it to a dealer to check nothing in the IBR assembly cracked because of this, or will it be safe to assume its fine (does it have a pressure sensor that made it stop or would a fuse blow before any part gets truely damaged? Owners-Manual says the IBR WILL get damaged if blocked in IBR-Override...) Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the kind words! I don’t believe it has a built in sensor, but if it’s working perfectly, I wouldn’t worry about it. The fuse wouldn’t necessarily blow before any damage occurs. Make sure you test it thoroughly (it sounds like you already have) and also that the brake works properly. Good luck.
Hello, Love your video I just installed a brand new IBR unit on my 2012 GTI SE 130. does it need to be programmed? Do I need to take it to the dealer? Please help thanks
It is supposed to be programmed, but we find that they don’t always need to. Not perfect, but you can probably get away without it. If you have any issues, you will need to get it calibrated at the dealer. Good luck.
@@3ftDeepChannel I think the old part number is has programming in the ibr module specific for the skis, but they have since moved to a universal part with a different part number that must be programmed to specific skis.
Could be. I guess you could order one and try it out and if it doesn’t work bring it into the dealer and pay them to calibrate it.
I did. I ordered the part 278003040, installed it, and had to go to the dealer to program it to the ski. Man that was an expensive repair
Should I remove the flange nut first and then the impeller? I am not trying to rebuild the pump my bearings are good, just trying to put in a new wear ring.
If you’re just going to change the wear ring, you may not need to do either. Check out our other video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6yJj5uQmcK_Xag.htmlsi=_2irTSmzrtYKQo2d
Hi I have a 2001 rxdi seadoo I took the fuel pump out and replaced the 2 filters ...put it all back but the jet sky won't start now. I do see the pump skirts gas from the nozzle but the motor cranks but no spark unless I put some starting fluid in the piston and then put the plugs back.... could it be the pressure of the gas tank or could it be the fuel lines are clogged the ski has 52 original hours
That sounds strange. If your machine was running before you changed the filters, I suspect you made an error when you put it back together. I’d take it apart systematically and make sure everything’s connected properly. Good luck.
@@3ftDeepChannel bad battery that was it
Well, I wouldn’t have guessed that. Glad to hear you fixed it. Hopefully you didn’t have to hire a mechanic! Thanks for the update.
because the sea doo supercharger releases a lot of white smoke from the exhaust?
Not sure what your comment is the answer to, but white smoke from the exhaust is not normally the symptom of a failed supercharger. A bad noise and terrible engine noise/seized engine are usually the signs.
Pretty sure that was two stroke oil in the motor based on the color…. Now I’m wondering if that is the secret to getting 900 hours out of a ski lol.
Whatever it was, it sure didn’t hurt.
How did you prepare the tank? I used Kreem some time ago but it didnt work for me, TankCure did wonders for me. If there's even a speck of rust, the liner will not adhere there and thus create bubbles. And bubbles pop, and create bladders. My advice is a thorough de-grease, plush with water, add 200ml isopropynol , shake well, empty, blow out with compressed air. Add rust remover, flush it out the same way as the degreaser. What i found out is that if you blow it out with hot air it rusts immediatly, so just use compressed air or a cold blower. If you use compressed air, make sure its water and oil free. If you use a epoxy, keep in mind that its very viscous and needs time to flow. These are my tips. To me, epoxy>liner any time
Thanks for the tips. We followed the instructions to the letter, but clearly it wasn’t prepared good enough. I suspect we’re not the only ones that failed.
can you elaborate more on #5 riding beyond their skill level
Yes, it’s when people are out there “hot-doggin’” it on their parent’s machine that they don’t know how to ride, and then end up on the back of someone’s boat! (actual incident at a lake nearby)
driving jetski for first time in a week any tips
My number one tip is to always remember YOU NEED TO GIVE IT GAS TO STEER. It steers by a jet. There is no rudder! Good luck.
Hey guys got a question i have a 2003 seadpo gtx 4tec. Im having a bogging when i give it any throttle but will idel no problem when in the water. Compression is good, no codes using candoo pro, no coolant loss, no leaks. Any suggestions
Have you checked your wear ring lately? You could also have something stuck in your impeller or intake grate. Check it out!
I have a gtx 185. there is gold/bronze particles in the oil filter and my mechanic suspects it to possibly be the bolts. The ski is bone stock its whole life. There is also signs of the engine being pulled before and we have no clue how old the filter is (My old mechanic never changed the filter). Any clue why they could possibly be failing on a stock machine?
The most common failure on older machines is the supercharger. What year is your machine? Has your supercharger been rebuilt within the last 200 hours or 5 years?
@@3ftDeepChannel 2003 GTX 185, charger rebuilt with the 200 hour kit its currently sitting at around 180 ish hours and its going in for a charger inspection and if needed soft or full rebuild.
@@3ftDeepChannel The charger has not failed the thing still runs like 65 mph.
Have you checked the compression? Has there been any more flakes in the oil filter since you changed it?
@@3ftDeepChannel We have not checked compression yet, the filter was just changed so I'm going to check it out after I take it for a spin.
I have a 23 rxp less than 30 hours. It a little but my handle bars have play in them. I need to learn how to adjust that. Like if I’m sitting on the ski I can put pressure on my handle bars and move it back and fourth.
All of the Sea-Doos have a little play in the handlebars. I wouldn’t bother with it unless the slack is significant.

@@3ftDeepChannel for sure thanks for the reply brother
Probably a dumb thing to say but I've never seen a professional shop use rigid tools. I always see Milwaukee and DeWalt.
Not dumb at all. We’re not professionals, so it makes sense. Milwaukee are definitely top of the line tools, but you sure do have to pay for the quality. We find Ridgid tools to be very good and fairly priced (for us non-mechanics). Thanks for your comment.
