    Any tricks to get the threaded seal retainer out. I've soaked it with penetrating oil, heat, used a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter on the 4 pin tool with a pry bar,also with an impact gun and it's not budging. This is the first time the SC has been apart and has 105 hrs. The intercooler was leaking so the SC has a little corrosion inside but i caught it early and can't see it making the retainer so hard to remove. I've onlu used a heat gun but it was hot enough for the o rings to start smoking. Maybe more heat? I'm worried i'll snap the housing mounting tabs connected to the maintenance fixture off i'm cranking on it so hard.

  • @3ftDeepChannel
    @3ftDeepChannel9 күн бұрын

    I assume you’re referring to the “retaining disc”? Are you using the special tool with pins? You can also try putting it in the freezer (at least -20 degrees C) and then trying while it’s still frozen. If it doesn’t work, freeze it again and apply heat to the housing area around the disc for a minute or so (so the disc is cold and the housing is warm). Good luck!

    I have a 2020 GTX 300 Limited with the ST-3 hull (acrylic}. I'm finding no real definitive answers about how to repair or successfully work with this material. Someone rammed the nose into a dock. Seadoo doesn't even offer a replacement hull. Some patch using regular fiberglass, but many say it won't hold. Have you had any experience with it?

    Thanks for the kind words. 2002 is quite an old machine. It may be in great shape, but I wouldn’t trust it. There is a lot that can go wrong with those older boats, especially electrical wiring that can cause endless frustration. I’d pay a bit more $$ and get something newer; preferably a machine that’s been taken care of and is 15 years old (or newer). We tend to stay away from anything more than 10 years old. It can be very dangerous to get stranded in the middle of a lake (or ocean), especially when the wind picks up. Good luck!

    Pretty sure I sucked up some stuff today on my gtr 215. Was running very well hitting top speeds with ease, the first thing I noticed that was odd was the ski doing low speed while I did not have much throttle in. I hit the throttle again and it reset, then it started shuddering a lot, gave it a good shake but there was still something stuck in the impeller, major vibration. Had to take it into the shop regardless for a soft supercharger rebuild before going away. Hopefully everything works.

  • @3ftDeepChannel
    @3ftDeepChannel23 күн бұрын

    Have you checked to see if it’s charging while running? That could be an issue. Shorts aren’t too common with those machines; the most common electrical issue (apart from failing harnesses) is a bad ground. Make sure your grounding is all good, especially the 3 connections on the engine block at the front. Good luck.

    I’d check the jet pump first for any water intrusion. If so, repair any damaged components. I’d also spray some fogging oil in the cylinders, to minimize the damage caused by the first few piston strokes. Make sure the battery is fully charged, and capable of holding a charge. If it’s >4 years old, I’d replace it. I’d replace the engine oil and filter and spark plugs. You may also want to replace the gasoline, especially if it has an odd smell. Check for any corroded parts and replace as necessary, especially hose clamps. Those are the main things. Good luck!

    Hey! Amazing Videos. I have a question: A friend of mine has a 2016 GTX 300 Limited (Gen 2 IBR I think?!). He wanted to clean the rear pump assembly and lowered the IBR using Override while on the trailer. He forgot to take of the license-plate bar, so when lowering, without noticing, the IBR was pushing down on that solid metal bar for around 5 seconds. After realizing, he checked for damage (nothing visible) and functionality (movement in IBR-Override seems fine/unchanged). Best take it to a dealer to check nothing in the IBR assembly cracked because of this, or will it be safe to assume its fine (does it have a pressure sensor that made it stop or would a fuse blow before any part gets truely damaged? Owners-Manual says the IBR WILL get damaged if blocked in IBR-Override...) Thanks in advance!

  • @3ftDeepChannel
    @3ftDeepChannelАй бұрын

    Thanks for the kind words! I don’t believe it has a built in sensor, but if it’s working perfectly, I wouldn’t worry about it. The fuse wouldn’t necessarily blow before any damage occurs. Make sure you test it thoroughly (it sounds like you already have) and also that the brake works properly. Good luck.

    How did you prepare the tank? I used Kreem some time ago but it didnt work for me, TankCure did wonders for me. If there's even a speck of rust, the liner will not adhere there and thus create bubbles. And bubbles pop, and create bladders. My advice is a thorough de-grease, plush with water, add 200ml isopropynol , shake well, empty, blow out with compressed air. Add rust remover, flush it out the same way as the degreaser. What i found out is that if you blow it out with hot air it rusts immediatly, so just use compressed air or a cold blower. If you use compressed air, make sure its water and oil free. If you use a epoxy, keep in mind that its very viscous and needs time to flow. These are my tips. To me, epoxy>liner any time
